Yield Guild Games (YGG) Pilipinas, the leading Web3 gaming community in the country, culminates its year-long initiative to bring web3 gaming to Filipinos nationwide with a grand finale in Manila. The YGG Pilipinas Roadtrip concludes on Sunday, 14 July 2024 at Ayala Malls TriNoma in Quezon City, promising to be the biggest event yet.

The Roadtrip has been a vibrant showcase of both web3 gaming and regional Filipino culture. Over 5,000 attendees across Batangas, Baguio, Cebu, Davao, and Bacolod experienced unique cultural elements at each stop. From the historic Camp John Hay in Baguio to the colorful MassKara Dancers in Bacolod, the Roadtrip fostered a sense of community and local pride.

The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) and local government units (LGUs) played a crucial role in the Roadtrip’s success. International collaborators like Mighty Bear Games CEO Simon Davis and Immutable executives also joined the initiative, enriching the event with diverse perspectives.

The Manila leg promises to be the grand finale, featuring:

  • Game demonstrations and live matches for popular web3 games like Parallel, My Pet Hooligan, and Petopia.
  • A sneak peek at BreederDAO’s upcoming game Creatorverse.
  • Talks and workshops hosted by the YGG Pilipinas Web3 Metaversity Program to introduce newcomers to the world of web3.
  • A live performance by local rock band Lola Amour.
  • The Roadtrip’s biggest cosplay competition yet with a PHP100,000 prize pool.

YGG Pilipinas is partnering with Edison to create a virtual replica of the Manila leg in the metaverse. This allows remote participation, with virtual attendees exploring booths, experiencing game demos, and networking.

While the Roadtrip concludes, YGG Pilipinas’ commitment to web3 education persists. The upcoming YGG Play Summit on 18-22 November 2024, signifies the organization’s dedication to fostering a thriving web3 gaming community in the Philippines.
