In today’s rapidly evolving technological landscape, Artificial Intelligence (AI) is at the forefront of innovation, revolutionizing the way businesses operate and individuals interact with technology. Generative AI is empowering organizations to intelligently automate customer experiences and streamline internal operations. This groundbreaking technology is at the center of this year’s VST ECS CXO Tech Summit 2023 happening this week at Mactan, Cebu.

“A mere decade ago, we were learning to communicate with machines. Today, machines understand and adapt to our language, and erasing the boundaries between humans and technologies. While AI is currently the headline in the world, we must not lose sight of the critical modernization of our IT infrastructure,” according to Jimmy D. Go, President & CEO at VST ECS Phils., Inc. at the opening plenary of the tech summit that has innovation and cybersecurity as this edition’s theme.

One prominent player in the tech world, Microsoft, is rolling out “Copilot,” while most software applications are incorporating AI into their core functionality. This integration signifies the rapid adoption of AI across the board.

Gartner, a leading research and advisory firm, predicts that by 2030, 80% of people will interact with smart robots daily, and within two (02) years, these smart robots will become essential workforce partners in 90% of global artificial intelligence and machine learning initiatives.

AI, which was once a noble concept, has now become an integral part of the products and services offered by major companies. A mere decade ago, we were learning to communicate with machines, but today, machines understand and adapt to our language, blurring the boundaries between humans and technology.

While AI takes the spotlight in today’s tech landscape, businesses were reminded not to overlook the critical modernization of IT infrastructure. This modernization enables organizations to embrace the latest technology trends, such as multi-cloud, quantum computing, data explosion, robotic process automation (RPA), and more. Investments in connectivity solutions, digital infrastructure, cloud technologies, cybersecurity, big data storage, automation, and collaboration tools are vital to prepare for the ever-evolving tech landscape.

Despite economic challenges and fluctuating GDP growth, IT spending remains robust. The data center system market is expected to grow by 3.7% in 2023, with data center sales reaching US$224 billion. This growth is projected to continue, with a 6.1% increase in 2024. The Philippines, in particular, is witnessing a surge in data center investments, attracting both domestic and foreign companies.

The device industry is set to return to positive growth in 2024, with an expected 11% increase, reaching $759 billion. The demand for faster devices is driven by new generative AI software, further emphasizing the importance of IT spending.

The software industry is on a fast track, with spending expected to increase by over 13% year-on-year in 2024, surpassing the $1 trillion mark. Companies are increasingly identifying as software companies, highlighting the software industry’s growth potential.

Technology’s role in shaping the success of companies is undeniable. It enhances efficiency, productivity, customer service, global reach, and innovation. Embracing and adapting to technological advancements is the key to staying competitive. The importance of cybersecurity cannot be overstated, as cybercriminals leverage AI for sophisticated attacks.

The VST ECS CXO Tech Summit 2023 calls on technology leaders and reminds CIOs of their responsibility in securing intelligent systems and traditional IT infrastructure. The VST ECS Phils Inc. big boss, talking to summit attendees, said that their role transcends titles; they are the protectors of the digital world, where human-machine interactions seamlessly occur.

“VST ECS stands by your side, providing unwavering support and solutions to face these challenges with confidence. Our mission is to ensure that technological evolution enhances and enriches lives,” added Go during his keynote.
