Ubisoft Philippines, the first AAA co-development studio in the country, recently celebrated the grand opening of its brand-new office space at The Finance Center in Bonifacio Global City (BGC). The event, themed “Laro Tayo?” — which translates to “Let’s play?” — was a grand celebration that brought together industry professionals, media representatives, and gaming content creators.

The inauguration featured a series of highlights, beginning with speeches from key company leaders. Jean-Francois Valle, Zone Managing Director, and Chip Go, Studio Manager, delivered inspiring talks that underscored the studio’s achievements and future aspirations.

“We are incredibly excited to show our new office space and open our doors to partners, media, and key members of the gaming community,” Go said. He proudly noted, “We’re proud of how far we’ve come, being able to co-develop 12 AAA games and 3 DLCs since we started, with our team recently celebrating the launch of Skull & Bones, and our upcoming game — Assassin’s Creed: Shadows that we also played a major part in.”

Another prominent figure, JP Tan, Studio Art Director, shared insights into the creative inspiration behind the new office. “We always say our ‘workplace is our playground.’ When we were designing our space, we wanted it to reflect our dedication to providing our team with an inspiring environment to create memorable gaming experiences,” he said.

The event offered attendees a comprehensive look at the new office through interactive studio tours. Guests explored the production floor, where they gained insights into the innovative workspaces and witnessed firsthand where game development magic happens. The tours were complemented by an exclusive production showcase, providing a sneak peek into upcoming projects and the intricate processes behind game creation.

Adding to the festive atmosphere, the event featured a variety of engaging activities. Game stations allowed attendees to enjoy and test various games, while a live band played iconic video game music, enhancing the celebratory mood. Guests also indulged in classic Filipino snacks and refreshments, further immersing themselves in the local culture.

A major highlight of the event was a raffle that offered an array of exciting prizes. Attendees had the chance to win a high-performance Lenovo LOQ 15IRH8 gaming laptop, an art tablet from VST-ECS, a drawing tablet sponsored by Wacom Philippines and distributor Jondrich, and a Huion KAMVAS RDS 220 2.5k drawing monitor from Huion Philippines. These prizes added an extra layer of excitement and anticipation to the celebration.

The grand opening concluded with a series of press interviews with the company’s key figures, during which they shared their enthusiasm for the future and revealed that Ubisoft Philippines is actively hiring. Interested individuals were encouraged to visit their website for job opportunities.
