In partnership with MyEG Philippines, Inc. (MYEG PH), the Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority (TIEZA) will be implementing the Online Travel Tax Services System (OTTSS) — an online payment portal designed to provide a more convenient, faster, and hassle-free way of paying for travel taxes as pandemic restrictions ease and borders have started to open.
Through the partnership signed by way of a memorandum of agreement signed last 08 June 2022 at the Midas Tent in Pasay City, Filipino citizens will now have multiple options of paying for travel taxes online anytime while they remain safe in the comfort of their homes using their E-Wallets (GCash, Maya, ShopeePay, and GrabPay), Credit/Debit Cards, Online Bank Transfer from various banks such as BPI, BDO, UnionBank, RCBC, and Maybank, while also making cash payment options still available from 7-Eleven, Robinsons Department Store, SM Department Store, SM Supermarket, Cebuana Lhuillier, Palawan Pawnshop, USSC, RD Pawnshop, Posible, DA5, and many others. MYEG PH will be activating its 90,000 payment channels to TIEZA’s OTTSS.
MYEG PH is a market leader in electronic solutions championing government services online automation both in the Philippines and in Malaysia.
TIEZA’s Online Travel Tax Services System (OTTSS) can be accessed at https://tieza.gov.ph, and will soon be made available also at www.myeg.ph.
“Our capacity to travel outside the country was extremely limited during the pandemic. Now that travel restrictions have eased up, TIEZA is ready for the travel surge by providing our outbound citizens a more convenient way of paying their travel taxes online through our collaboration with MyEG. This is just one of the many innovations of TIEZA in providing better services to the people,” according to Mark Lapid, Chief Operating Officer of TIEZA.
Also present during the ceremony were Rodolfo E. Ancheta, TIEZA’s Assistant Chief Operating Officer for the Administration and Finance Sector, Cristeto G. Ocampo, TIEZA’s Travel Tax Department Manager, Atty. Bumbo S. Cruz, TIEZA’s Privilege Administration Division Manager, Raquel S. Dela Cruz, TIEZA’s Management Information Systems Department Manager, Michelle V. Magsakay, MyEG PH’s Business Development Manager, Elmer B. Dequilla, MyEG PH’s Business Project Manager, Ester Rebecca F. Del Fierro, MyEG PH’s Digital Marketing Manager, and Israelita Q. Choa, MyEG PH’s Accounts and E-Gov Operations Manager.
This latest innovation from TIEZA is an answer to President Duterte’s Executive Order 170 which orders all government departments and agencies to adopt digital payments for government disbursements and collections to promote efficient delivery of services, expedite transactions, boost revenue and reduce the risk of graft and corruption. The agency remains to be at the forefront of digital developments in providing ease of doing business that can benefit citizens nationwide.
“We are committed to support TIEZA in providing the traveling citizens an easier, faster, and hassle-free way of paying for their travel taxes. With this partnership, TIEZA will be able to provide 90,000 ways for the citizens to settle and pay for their travel taxes, thus, giving them more reasons to have a safer, more enjoyable, and hassle-free travel,” said Ann Margaret Saldaña, Chief Executive Officer of MYEG PH.
