As confirmed by abs-cbnNEWS.com tonight, the Land Transportation Franchising Regulatory Board (LTFRB) has approved last 23 Dec 2010 the petition increasing the flagdown rate for taxi’s from PHP30 to PHP40 to be in effect 2011.
Alongside with the flagdown rate hike is the increase of meter rate from PHP2.50 every 300 meters, it will now be PHP3.50. The online article mentioned that the last increase in the flagdown rate for taxi’s was done sometime in 2004. The new rates will be in effect 15 days after publication in the major dailies.
