It is the last weekend for 2012, but Team Mozilla Philippines is very busy organizing the last Tagalog Firefox Translation Marathon for the year. We are both happy and proud in welcoming to the Philippines Arky, Mozilla’s Community Manager for Localization. It is his first time to visit the country, and he will be celebrating the New Year here.
There were more than 25 Mozillians present to the whole day event held at The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf (CBTL) Prism Plaza, Two E-Com Mall of Asia Complex.
Arky introduced to the team the latest tool used by Mozilla to localize products and contents: Pootle. As of today, 40% of Firefox has been translated to Tagalog, which is the widely used language in the Philippines.
The reason why we normally hold Mozilla Philippines MozCoffee events at CBTL Prism Plaza is that the staff at this branch are so courteous and awesomely great. The venue also provides FREE Internet Connection via WiFi (for Swirl Card holders, like me)!
The Translation Marathon is just one big push in finishing the Tagalog Firefox Project. Should you want to help with this endeavor, please feel free to join via http://mozilla.locamotion.org/tl/firefox/
