SB Finance (SBF), a collaboration between Security Bank Corporation (SBC) and Thailand’s Bank of Ayudhya (Krungsri), recently marked the 75th anniversary of Philippine-Thai diplomatic relations with a significant meeting involving Thai diplomats. On 10 July 2024, SBF’s President and CEO, Abbie Dans-Casanova, and other key representatives visited the Royal Thai Embassy in Manila to celebrate and strengthen the longstanding ties between the two nations.
The delegation included SB Finance Chief Business Officer Gerard Betita, Krungsri Vice President for AEC Business Development Rommakiet Kawratanamporn, Royal Thai Embassy Minister Rangsant Srimangkorn, and Counselor for Economics Yupawan Premchit Taniguchi. The meeting featured a discussion with H.E. Ambassador Tull Traisorat, who highlighted the importance of partnerships between Thai and Philippine investors. Ambassador Traisorat emphasized that such collaborations can benefit various sectors of business and society. He encouraged SBF to leverage the embassy’s activities to expand its business and social network in celebration of the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations. In response, SBF expressed gratitude for the support and pledged to engage in the embassy’s corporate social responsibility initiatives.
This visit came on the heels of a previous meeting on 03 July 2024, where SBF representatives met with Thailand’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, H.E. Mr. Maris Sangiampongsa. During this official visit, organized by H.E. Mr. Enrique A. Manalo, Secretary of Foreign Affairs of the Philippines, Minister Sangiampongsa engaged with Philippine government officials and Thai private sector members in the Philippines. The discussions focused on investment opportunities, challenges, and potential support from the Thai government.
The Thai Foreign Affairs Minister commended the contributions of Thai investors to the social and economic development of both countries and emphasized mutual support to strengthen the Filipino-Thai community.
