SafePass recognizes the importance of the “Ingat Angat” campaign and its mission of reviving and boosting consumer confidence. True to its mission of creating safer spaces throughout the country, digital contact-tracing platform SafePass empowers various establishments around the country to provide easy, secure, and worry-free experiences to their visitors and employees through its free, robust, and secure contract-tracing capabilities.
The rollout of the “Ingat Angat” campaign, a public-private initiative aimed at reviving the Philippine economy as it continues to weather the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. As depicted in its widely shared Facebook video, the campaign encourages Filipinos to go out and engage with their community’s businesses while making sure that they follow proper health and safety protocols.
“Ingat Angat is a campaign led by the private sector. Its main goal is to boost the economy by encouraging the public to go out while strongly reminding them to observe safety protocols,” Ingat Angat explains on its official website. The campaign is led by Taskforce T3, a consortium of several of the country’s largest private corporations working together with key government agencies to strengthen pandemic response efforts.
“With SafePass providing accessible, all-digital contact-tracing solutions to over 1,700 locations to date, we share the Ingat Angat campaign’s mission of reinvigorating the national economy while helping companies around the country adhere to health and safety protocols,” according to Winston Damarillo, CEO of Talino Venture Labs, one of the companies behind SafePass. “Now more than ever, organizations have to work together to address the ongoing challenges brought about by the pandemic.”
SafePass is an all-digital contact-tracing platform that helps businesses and other establishments easily implement health and safety protocols within their locations. With its suite of digital tools, establishments no longer have to rely on storing piles of logbooks and going through hours of CCTV camera footage for their contact-tracing needs.
Road to Recovery
The Ingat Angat campaign comes at an opportune time, as more sectors have gradually reopened and resumed operations from their partial or total closures during the community quarantine. On 02 October 2020, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) released a memorandum circular allowing seventeen (17) business sectors to operate at 100% capacity, with a similar goal of reviving local economies.
Following suit is the tourism sector, one of the hardest-hit industries in the country but has made efforts to reopen certain destinations to domestic tourism. One of these locations is Ilocos Norte, as its local government has announced that it will be reopening its doors to Luzon tourists by 15 October 2020. The Department of Tourism (DOT) also announced that it has given certifications to 208 hotels and resorts to operate in this reopening, many of which will be using SafePass to provide contact-tracing services to their guests and employees.
While the reopening will be slow and gradual, it’s a sign of major recovery efforts being set in motion around the country. SafePass will continue to contribute to these efforts by creating safer and more stress-free public spaces, helping establishment owners easily follow the latest health and safety protocols within their locations.
“From reopened industries to tourism corridors to campaigns promoting business activity, it is clear that the Philippines is unwavering in its efforts to bounce back from the pandemic,” said Damarillo. “As SafePass provides accessible and affordable contact-tracing solutions, we continue to be a partner of all businesses, tourist destinations, and other establishments in their road to recovery.”
