In a move to further enhance its digital services, Rizal Commercial Banking Corporation (RCBC) has launched RCBC Pay, a new payment solution designed for Mastercard credit cardholders. This innovative feature allows users to make secure, contactless payments via their NFC-enabled Android smartphones, offering a convenient and efficient alternative to carrying physical cards.

RCBC Pay uses Near Field Communication (NFC) technology, enabling cardholders to simply tap their smartphones to make payments. This latest offering aims to streamline the transaction process, allowing users to enjoy the benefits of their RCBC Mastercard credit cards without the hassle of carrying them. It represents a shift towards a more secure and modern payment experience that aligns with global trends in digital finance.

Developed in partnership with Mastercard and Thales, a global leader in digital identity and security, RCBC Pay is set to revolutionize the payment landscape for RCBC customers. Arniel Vincent B. Ong, President and CEO of RCBC Credit Cards, emphasized the significance of the new service. “RCBC Pay represents our commitment to embracing digital transformation and enhancing the convenience for our customers. By collaborating with Mastercard and Thales, we are able to provide a secure and efficient payment solution that meets the evolving needs of today’s consumers.”

The collaboration with Mastercard and Thales ensures that RCBC Pay offers advanced security measures for its users. The technology behind the service is designed to protect transactions, making it both fast and secure for everyday use. Thales’ involvement further strengthens the solution’s security features, offering peace of mind for customers who are increasingly reliant on contactless payments.

RCBC Mastercard cardholders can start using RCBC Pay by downloading the RCBC Pulz app from Google Play, linking their credit card, and making contactless payments at over 92 million merchants worldwide that accept Mastercard.

Simon Calasanz, Country Manager at Mastercard Philippines, added, “Mastercard is proud to partner with RCBC in launching RCBC Pay. This initiative is a testament to our shared vision of driving innovation in the payment landscape and providing cardholders with greater choice to access and use their money in the form or device that makes their payment experience more seamless.”
