If there is one computer peripheral that I find myself hard to be pleased with, it would be the pointing device that I use for day-to-day tasks. For over a year now, I had been using a Rapoo optical mouse — and I am happy with it: no lag, very responsive, fits my hand, and most of all — it has RGB lighting. The keys to making my decision on which optical mouse to use are comfort and functionality.
Recently, our friends at Shenzhen Rapoo Technology Co., Ltd. (Rapoo) sent me this VT200S IR Optical Gaming Mouse, and in this article is my honest-to-goodness review of the computer peripheral device.
Rapoo is an expert in wireless peripheral technology dedicated to providing global customers with high-performance and high-quality wireless peripheral products. With its first-class industrial design and international standard quality, the device manufacturer has been ranked number 1 in China’s wireless keyboard and mouse market for two consecutive years.
Infrared Optical Gaming Mouse
The Rapoo VT200S is a wired infrared optical gaming mouse that has the style and functionality fitting both novice and seasoned gamers, as well as the comfort a work-from-home warrior continuously seeks for. Ergonomically designed with eight (08) programmable buttons, all fully customizable to suit the needs of its user and can be assigned for a wide range of functions and macros. Gamers will find the built-in memory functionality very useful as one can save the mouse configurations (macro, DPI, and breathing light mode) with ease.
Designed with gamers of all ages in mind, the VT200S comes with an adjustable real-time DPI button that lets you adjust up to seven (07) DPI values ranging from 50 to 16,000 DPI at 50 DPI intervals using the DPI+/- buttons to meet the accuracy of different screen requirements.
The computer gaming era made it a default feature (sort of) of any gaming mouse to have an LED multi-color light system. The Rapoo VT200S comes with a built-in 16 million colors light system that can be customized in many combinations based on your preference and liking. One feature that you should try with the VT200s is its APM-lighting mode that reflects your per-minute actions with a spectacular light show.
Design & Feel
If you are someone like me who is not a fan of mice (or some call it a mini-mouse), the Rapoo VT200S could be the pointing device that you are looking for. The curve and size of this optical gaming mouse fit perfectly with my small hands, plus the rubber sidings add traction for comfort and precision while pointing at items in your screen or app.
Another thing that I liked about the Rapoo VT200S is its gold-plated USB connector. Any hardware that comes with a gold-plated USB connector (or any connector for that matter) denotes something of higher grade, not to discount the fact that they have better and larger conductors. The gold-plating ensures better shielding and durability than regular USB connectors. Also, having such a physical feature will prevent oxidation or corrosion in the long run.
