How do you cope with stress while working from home during this pandemic? Or better, how do you manage more stress if you’re back to the physical workplace already? How about your kids, what are their favorite pastimes after homeschooling (or if they are back to face-to-face classes already)?
At the onset of the ongoing pandemic, I suddenly found myself working longer than pre-pandemic days. Perhaps, it was brought about by everything that I need to do, and the meetings and events to attend are mostly happening online — and I am stuck at my work desk all day long.
I am not a fan of gaming consoles, moreso of computer-based or mobile games. It was during this pandemic that I spent my free time sleeping (LOL) — but at times it is counter-productive, especially if you oversleep.
I recently stumbled upon this website called Plays.org, which brings back memories of the early days of the Internet in the Philippines. It was during that era (the late 1990s) when I and my friends discovered being online in front of our slow computers, and spending hours after hours in front of the computer monitor trying to outwit one another with online games — that are not even multi-player.
Plays.org is an easy-to-use website. Navigating through the site is so easy that even a child will enjoy the free games it has in store. There is an option for you to register at the website, so that you will be able to save your favorite games for quick access and continue playing your saved games across multiple devices and browsers. Among the login options that the website allows include Facebook, Twitter, and Google, or you may stick with the good old fashion username login.
If you simply want to try the games on the website, you can still enjoy playing online without having to go through the registration process. Simply click on the NEW button from the website’s navigation menu to check out the latest titles that will bring you countless hours of enjoyment. This site offers thousands of games, with many more being added to the site daily — talking about a massive expansion there.
Skateboard Challenge
Clicking on the NEW menu of the website presented me with a list of new titles to try out. The non-gamer in me made me click on the Skateboard Challenge title. Yeah, it is a game for kids, but I find it enjoyable.
The online game will let your character perform various jump and rail skate tricks as you go from one side of the level to another. The aim of this web-based game is to “don’t wipe out.”
To play this game, you only need to use the C, X, Z, and Space Bar keys of your computer (desktop or laptop) to hurdle obstacles, do awesome skating tricks, and collect coins along the way to level up. The game also works best if you have a touchscreen-enabled device like a tablet or laptop.
If you are looking for a bonding activity with your children, I highly recommend this website and this online game in particular. Don’t forget to share your high scores with me, OK?!
