In a celebration of entrepreneurial spirit and sustainable business practices, PLDT Home is set to honor mompreneurs through the Gawad Madiskarte 2024 awards. The event, scheduled for 19 October 2024 at the Seda Hotel in Bonifacio Global City, highlights the achievements of innovative and sustainable businesses founded by Filipino mothers.

The mompreneurs of the Madiskarte Moms PH (MMPH) community exemplify resilience and creativity. This online community, established during the pandemic, has empowered women to take control of their financial futures by launching their businesses from home. What started as a necessity for many has turned into a growing movement, where women balance their roles as caregivers, teachers, and business owners while embracing entrepreneurship.

With over 190,000 members, the MMPH community has provided critical resources for budding mompreneurs. These include 150 business toolkits, more than 24,900 trained members, 450 brand affiliates, and 16 online masterclasses. Through these efforts, many Filipino mothers have turned their homes into hubs of economic activity, showcasing their ability to juggle multiple roles with success.

Gawad Madiskarte 2024 will feature three main award categories: Diskarteng Angat, Diskarteng Eco-Friendly, and Diskarteng May-Puso, with divisions for both start-up and scale-up businesses. Winners of each category will receive PHP100,000 in cash prizes. In addition, special categories like Diskarteng Digital and Diskarteng Homebiz will offer prizes of PHP50,000 to the winners, with PHP25,000 awarded to the other finalists.

Supporting partners such as Lalamove and Tough Mama are also contributing to the prizes, offering logistical support vouchers and kitchen appliances to help mompreneurs in their daily business operations. The event will be judged by a distinguished panel of experts, including PLDT COO Butch Jimenez, SM Supermalls EVP Jonjon San Agustin, and renowned journalist Pia Hontiveros, among others.

This year’s Gawad Madiskarte nominees showcase a deep commitment to sustainability. Many businesses are centered around upcycling materials, reducing waste, and supporting local communities. From upcycled bags to eco-friendly fashion, these mompreneurs are proving that businesses can be both profitable and socially responsible.

Gawad Madiskarte 2024 is more than just an award ceremony; it is a recognition of the vital role mompreneurs play in shaping the future of sustainable business in the Philippines. By combining creativity, sustainability, and resilience, these women are leading the way for future generations of entrepreneurs.
