Digital payment company PayMongo has announced the appointment of Jojo Malolos as its new President and CEO. The appointment will take effect on 01 February 2023, and will see Isabel Ridad stepping down from her role as Interim CEO. Ridad will assist Malolos during the transition period and will continue to serve on the PayMongo Board of Directors.
As the new CEO, Malolos will be responsible for leading PayMongo’s efforts to enter the next phase of growth. The company is facing a challenging market environment, and Jojo will be implementing a range of initiatives to ensure success. The Board of Directors has confidence in Jojo’s experience and his ability to lead the company through change, as he brings significant experience in M&A, organizational transformation, and a track record in the fintech, venture capital, digital banking, and innovation ecosystems.
Malolos will also lead the introduction of PayMongo’s new products and services, aimed at better serving its existing client base and driving the advancement of the internet economy in the Philippines and Southeast Asia. Additionally, with the company’s newly issued EMI license, Malolos will continue to focus on driving significant impact in the digital financial services sector.
Previously, Malolos served as President and CEO of DAVI and JG DEV, and is the co-founder and Chairman of GoTyme Bank. He was also the former CEO of Wing Bank and Smart Money, now known as PayMaya/Maya. His global fintech experience includes stints with Mastercard Financial Services in Latin America and Cignifi Boston.
