The Palawan Group of Companies, widely recognized in the Philippines for its money remittance service, Palawan Express Padala, and pawning services under Palawan Pawnshop, has announced a strategic partnership with eTap, a provider of self-service payment machines and kiosks. This collaboration, centered around the PalawanPay digital wallet, aims to simplify the cash-in process for users by utilizing eTap’s extensive network of over 2,777 kiosks nationwide.
The partnership agreement was formalized in a signing ceremony attended by key representatives from both organizations. The Palawan Group was represented by Chief Business Development Officer, Lisa Lou Castro-Sabado, Head of B2B Group, Missy Baldemor, and Head of Innovation, JC Medina. On behalf of eTap, the signing was witnessed by Chief Executive Officer Percy Hernandez, President Marlon Portugal, Chief Strategy Officer Juan Miguel Hernandez, Business Development Senior Manager Ernie Eusebio, and COO Jana Cruzado.
“We are true to our vision and mission to help upgrade the lives of our countrymen. This partnership comes at a very opportune time since most Filipinos have transitioned to using digital wallets as their mode of payments. With this, we would like to thank you, Sir Percy and the eTap team. We look forward to more collaborations with you,” according to Palawan Group’s Castro-Sabado.
This collaboration comes at a pivotal time, as more Filipinos are embracing digital wallets for their financial transactions. The integration of PalawanPay with eTap’s kiosks significantly enhances accessibility for users, enabling them to conveniently top up their digital wallets at various locations across the country.
The Palawan Group has been proactive this year in expanding its reach through strategic partnerships. With the inclusion of eTap, the company is poised to offer its services to a broader audience, further cementing its commitment to providing affordable, fast, and hassle-free financial services to Filipinos. This partnership not only elevates the convenience for PalawanPay users but also strengthens the Palawan Group’s position as a leader in the financial services sector in the Philippines.
“It is an honor for us to partner with the Palawan Group. We’ve actually been talking to others about other concepts, but Palawan has shown so much interest and that is why we are here. I look forward to our continued collaboration in the coming years, as we work together to enhance both of our services and achieve mutual growth,” said eTap’s Percy Hernandez.
As more people gain awareness of the PalawanPay app and the eTap kiosks, the ease of sending and receiving money across the Philippines is expected to improve, reflecting the Palawan Group’s enduring promise of “mura, mabilis, at walang kuskos balungos” service to the Filipino public.
