Oracle has recently made an exciting announcement regarding the inclusion of generative AI-powered features in its Oracle Fusion Cloud Human Capital Management (HCM). These new capabilities, supported by the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) generative AI service, have been integrated into existing HR processes with the aim of driving faster business value, improving productivity, enhancing the candidate and employee experience, and streamlining HR operations.
The embedded generative AI capabilities within Oracle Cloud HCM are built on OCI, utilizing its top-notch AI services to deliver high levels of security, performance, and business value. The system includes built-in prompts that assist customers in achieving optimal results while minimizing undesirable side effects such as factual errors and bias. With Oracle Cloud HCM, customers have the ability to refine models using their own data, tailoring the generative AI models specifically to their unique business needs. By granting customers control over the data used by generative AI, Oracle ensures the protection of sensitive and proprietary information.
“Generative AI is boosting productivity and unlocking a new world of skills, ideas, and creativity that can have an immediate impact in the workplace. With the ability to summarize, author, and recommend content, generative AI helps to reduce friction as employees complete important HR functions. For example, with the new embedded generative AI capabilities in Oracle Cloud HCM, our customers will be able to take advantage of large language models to drastically reduce the time required to complete tasks, improve the employee experience, enhance the accuracy of workforce insights, and ultimately increase business value,” according to Chris Leone, Executive Vice President, Applications Development at Oracle Cloud HCM.
The newly introduced generative AI capabilities within Oracle Cloud HCM enhance the existing embedded AI features that are already benefiting thousands of users. These advancements are set to revolutionize the productivity of candidates, employees, managers, and HR teams by streamlining processes and automating content generation, all within a single integrated solution. The following generative AI capabilities have been incorporated:
- Assisted Authoring:
This feature enables employees, managers, and HR leaders to author content swiftly and effortlessly, significantly enhancing productivity and time efficiency. By providing a brief prompt, such as a draft title for a job requisition or a performance goal, the generative AI capabilities swiftly generate content for users to review, revise, and approve, allowing them to focus on more value-added tasks. Assisted authoring can be utilized for various use cases, including writing job descriptions and requisitions, automated goal creation with detailed descriptions and success measures, as well as generating HR Helpdesk knowledgebase articles to assist employees in efficiently completing HR tasks. - Suggestions:
By leveraging natural language processing and best practices, this feature guides users toward achieving better and faster results. The generative AI-powered suggestions in Oracle Cloud HCM not only improve user success but also enhance task completion speed and accuracy. Examples of suggestion use cases include automated recommendations for survey questions based on the type of survey being designed, or development tips for managers to provide to their employees. The suggested content, trained from Large Language Models (LLMs) under the customer’s control, reflects the language style and cultural DNA of the organization itself. - Summarization:
This capability increases efficiency by extracting key insights from one or multiple data sources. The generative AI capabilities can summarize essential elements of content, making it easily consumable and impactful. For instance, it can provide a summary of an employee’s performance for inclusion in their regular review cycle, based on feedback collected throughout the year from the employee, peers, or managers, along with goal progress and achievements.
The generative AI services of Oracle Cloud HCM are powered by OCI, with OCI Supercluster playing a key role. OCI Supercluster includes bare metal computing with NVIDIA GPUs and the cloud’s highest bandwidth RDMA network, enabling accelerated LLM training at an optimal cost. This positions Oracle as the industry leader in delivering the fastest AI innovation and attracting top enterprise-focused innovators, such as Cohere, to build on OCI and contribute to the innovation feedback cycle. OCI’s generative AI services ensure end-to-end security, granting customers complete control and ownership of their data.
Oracle Cloud HCM, designed natively for the cloud, is a comprehensive solution that seamlessly connects every human resource process from recruitment to retirement. By consolidating all employee data onto a single platform, HR teams gain access to a reliable source of information that informs their people strategy. The built-in AI acts as an advisor, analyzing workforce data and providing recommendations to help HR teams optimize business operations.
With the introduction of generative AI capabilities, Oracle continues to demonstrate its commitment to innovation and providing cutting-edge solutions to optimize HR processes and enhance the overall employee experience.
