IMG_8217The Mozilla Philippines Community in partnership with Wikimedia Philippines staged the third installment of Open Web Day in the Philippines, this time held at the Asian Institute of Management (AIM) in Makati City earlier today.

Mr. Jojit Ballesteros, President of Wikimedia Philippines opened the event with his presentation on how to use Wikipedia.

Just before lunch, Mozilla Philippines Community Manager Eusebio “Jun” Barrun, Jr. entertained gave a “short(er)” presentation on the presence of Mozilla here in the country. Jun also gave an overview of the Mozilla Reps Program, which includes the Student Reps Program.

Right after lunch, I gave a talk about the Localization efforts to translate Firefox Aurora to Tagalog. Also, for the very first time here in the Philippines, I gave the crowd an overview of what Boot to Gecko (B2G) is.

The event was attended by more than 30 students from the Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP-Taguig) and Technological University of the Philippines (TUP-Taguig) with some IT Professionals also in attendance.
