I was one of the lucky few who got invited for a reception hosted by US Ambassador Harry K. Thomas, Jr. on-board the USS George Washington (anchored in the middle of Manila Bay) last night. The awesomest experience so far, as I had never been on a boat ride (ever!), nor been that close in seeing an aircraft carrier. Also, the very first time I had seen an AWACS upfront. Truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
Thank you to our friends from the US Embassy Manila, and to Ambassador Harry K. Thomas, Jr. for inviting me to such memorable event! Such an honor to be on-board the USS George Washington.

Thanks Sir Bob for sharing those photos… i enjoyed viewing it. I went to mall of asia to just see USS George Washington but grabe ang layo nya. This pictures gave me the chance to tour this carrier. Sana next time they will allow a public tour. I love ships and airplanes, so to see them in reality is a big accomplishment. Again thanks and more power to you! Cheers!
Indeed the USS George Washington was one awesome ship. The mere size of it is very impressive. It’s like you’re on top of a huge building. And there were so many jets. So cool !
Hi Bob,
Nice meeting you earlier at Kabisera! See you again soon! 🙂
Cheers,
Dani
