AWS has announced the opening of a new AWS Direct Connect location at the PLDT Vitro Makati 2 data center in Manila, Philippines. This development allows you to establish a private and direct connection to all public AWS Regions (excluding those in China), AWS GovCloud Regions, and AWS Local Zones.
With AWS Direct Connect, organizations can transfer large amounts of data, run bandwidth-intensive applications, and access AWS services directly from their own data centers, colocation facilities, or office locations. This dedicated connection helps improve network performance, reduce latency, and enhance overall data transfer speeds.
The newly established Manila location offers dedicated connections of 1 Gbps and 10 Gbps, with the option of MACsec encryption for the 10 Gbps connections. This Direct Connect location extends its reach to resources operating in the Manila AWS Local Zone, supporting applications that require minimal latency or local data processing.
By leveraging Direct Connect, you can establish a secure and physical network connection between AWS and your data center, office, or colocation environment. These private connections ensure a more consistent network experience compared to connections made over the public internet.
AWS Direct Connect offers a dedicated and robust connection option for organizations seeking to establish a private and high-performance link between their on-premises infrastructure and AWS cloud resources.
