Global cybersecurity firm NCC Group has unveiled its new office in Manila, Philippines marking a strategic move to bolster local tech talent and foster a community of future cyber leaders in the region. The expansion aims to further enhance the organization’s global cybersecurity capabilities and deliver top-notch services to clients worldwide.
Founded in 1999, NCC Group has emerged as a world leader in cybersecurity, earning the trust of prominent businesses and governments to safeguard them against evolving cyber threats.
“Our people are the ones who make our purpose possible; a global community of talented individuals working together to create a more secure digital future. We are delighted to be expanding our global footprint with our new office in Manila. The city provides an impressive balance of highly educated tech and cyber capability and we are excited to welcome our new colleagues over the coming months,” said Mike Maddison, Global Chief Executive Officer of NCC Group.
The Manila (BGC) office, NCC Group’s second location in Southeast Asia, aligns with the company’s overarching strategy to expand its capacity for delivering high-quality services on a global scale. This move enhances competitiveness in the market and reinforces the commitment to providing cutting-edge cybersecurity solutions for clients. Already deeply involved with leading universities in Manila, the NCC Group is actively collaborating to shape academic curricula and sponsoring essential programs. The company’s goal is to cultivate job-ready cybersecurity talent and nurture future leaders who will play a pivotal role in supporting the industry.
The official opening ceremony of the new office took place at the Seven/NEO building in Bonifacio Global City (BGC) marking a significant milestone for NCC Group’s presence in the Southeast Asian region.
I asked Maddison why they opened an office in Manila when most tech companies are embracing the work-from-home and work-from-anywhere setup. He emphasized that collaboration is crucial in the absence of a perfect cybersecurity playbook and that there is a unique approach to building a modern work community. The Global CEO believes that a hybrid work style, including the use of unconventional collaboration spaces like a basketball court (yes, they do have an indoor basketball court in their BGC office) enhances creativity and learning. The NCC Group invests significantly in creating an appealing work environment to draw people in, focusing on building talent for the future. Maddison underscores the importance of a structured onboarding process, especially for those entering the workforce for the first time, and expresses enthusiasm for nurturing talent at an early stage. He also notes the positive impact of casual interactions, such as having coffee together, on team collaboration and mutual support.
