I may now be part of the De La Salle-College of St. Benilde, but blood still runs thicker than water. The Knights nailed the Blazers 65-44 on the opening salvo of the 82nd Season of the National Collegiate Athletic Association today at the Big Dome.
An impressive start for my cousin Boyet Bautista, who missed our family gathering earlier today: the renewal of vows for our grandparents (please see my blog entry for this one). With a remarking 28 minutes game time, 3/12 at the rainbow line and 3/8 two-pointers, he was indeed the tool that gave CSJL its first win this season. He was not, however, named as player of the game by the commentators. They opted to give the title to RJ Jazul, Jr. but with due mention that Boyet was supposed to be the Player of the Game, but since he is used to receiving such honor, it’s high time to recognize the second best knight today.
