Now that Mozilla had unveiled the Firefox OS, I thought of making this article to chronicle my personal encounter with this awesome mobile operating system:
November 2011
The year was 2011 when I first heard of the B2G (Boot2Gecko) Project from among my peers at the Mozilla Philippines Community. Weeks later, during MozCamp Asia 2011 at Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia we witnessed for the very first time a working B2G prototype that can actually do a “View Source” thingy:
From then on, I told myself “B2G will be the next kewlest thing …”
July 2012
Sometime July 2012, I was invited to be one of the speakers during Smart DevNet’s HTML5 Dev Day Davao. Smart DevNet’s Jim Ayson interviewed me regarding B2G (which will soon be called Firefox OS) after the event:

Two months later, the date was 12 SEP 2012, I was invited by Mr. Tony Velasquez of ANC’s Future Perfect to be one of their in-studio guests [read as Live Guesting on Nationwide TV!]. So, I tagged along Mozilla Philippines’ Community Manager Eusebio “Jun” Barrun, Jr. over at the ANC Studios in Quezon City:

Manila played host as one of the cities chosen to have Mozilla’s Firefox OS App Days. The Community had the privilege of welcoming Mr. William Reynolds from Mozilla HQ (in Mountain View, California) to share his knowledge on how easy it is for developers to create apps for Firefox OS. We were so grateful that ANC’s Future Perfect was able to send a TV crew to cover the event. Here is the coverage of the event as shown on national TV:
February 2013
Just last Monday, 25 Feb 2013 (Manila time), Mozilla unveiled Firefox OS during the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona, Spain. The announcement revealed the names of carriers and handset manufacturers who will support the Firefox OS during launch. Just two (02) days ago, Sony was added to that supporter’s list and even released this video of Firefox OS running on an Xperia E:
Truly, 2013 is an exciting year for Mozilla.
