Earlier today, Team Mozilla Philippines Community went to STI College Novaliches for a MozTour. It was the very first time the team went this side of Metro Manila to promote Mozilla.
I set an early morning (say 0730H on a Saturday) carpool meetup in Makati City, then we proceeded to this (far) side of Quezon City. The one in Novaliches is the nicest STI campus I had ever seen so far. The MozillaPH Team is composed of Mozilla Reps Joell Lapitan, Kemuel Joseph Domanog, Ryan Ermita and Aaron Cajes. Student Volunteers Danica Santos and Arjay Oboza joined the team for logistics.
The event was scheduled to start at 0900H. After a few minutes of delay, we started the ball rolling.
I was the first one on stage to talk about Mozilla and some of the activities from the Local Community. I gave a brief background on the talks lined up for the MozTour.
Right after my talk, fellow ReMo (Mozilla Rep) Kemuel Domanog went up on stage to give a backgrounder about the Firefox Student Ambassadors (FSA) Program.
Kim was followed by another ReMo Aaron Cajes to do a lecture on how easy it is to Create an App for Firefox OS.
To cap the MozTour, my ReMo Mentee Ryan Ermita went up on stage to deliver his talk about the Webmaker Project.
The team enjoyed being at STI College Novaliches more than the students. We do hope to be back for a Firefox OS Workshop very soon.
