Microsoft announced the general availability of its AI-powered design tool, Microsoft Designer, to users with personal Microsoft accounts. This marks a significant step forward in the company’s mission to democratize design and empower users to bring their creative visions to life effortlessly.

Designer harnesses the power of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to revolutionize the creative process. Users can now describe their desired design in plain language, and the tool will generate stunning visuals within seconds. Whether crafting social media graphics, creating invitations, or designing presentations, Designer offers a versatile platform for exploring endless possibilities.

Beyond its standalone app, Designer seamlessly integrates into the Microsoft ecosystem. It’s now accessible through Microsoft Copilot in Word and PowerPoint, allowing users to create and edit designs directly within their documents. In addition, the tool is coming to Microsoft Photos, enabling users to enhance their images with AI-powered editing features.

AI-powered creation is at the core of Designer. Users can generate images, designs, and social media graphics based on simple text descriptions. Design templates are also available to jumpstart the creative process. Image editing is another key feature. Microsoft Designer allows users to enhance photos with capabilities like background removal, object removal, and style transfer.

The Designer mobile app enables users to create and edit designs on the go, while seamless integration with Microsoft products like Word, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Photos ensures a cohesive creative workflow.

Microsoft is committed to responsible AI development and has implemented safeguards to ensure the ethical use of Designer. The company emphasizes transparency and user control over the creative process.

Designer is available for free to users with personal Microsoft accounts on the web, as a mobile app, and as part of the Windows experience. For advanced features and increased daily boost limits, users can upgrade to a Copilot Pro subscription.

With the general availability of Microsoft Designer, the company aims to inspire a new generation of creators and redefine the way people approach design.
