MG Motors Philippines made a resounding statement at this year’s Manila International Auto Show (MIAS) with a dazzling display of innovation and sustainability. Boasting the most extensive lineup at the event, MG showcased a total of 12 cars, including four groundbreaking electric vehicle (EV) offerings, setting a new standard in the Philippine auto scene.
Leading the charge towards a sustainable future, MG unveiled the ZS EV and the MG4 XPOWER, spearheading the transition to electric mobility in the country. The ZS EV, a futuristic electric version of the brand’s popular compact crossover SUV, promises a range of up to 320 kilometers on a full charge, thanks to its powerful 130kW electric motor and 51kWh battery. Meanwhile, the MG4 EV XPOWER, a sporty all-wheel-drive electric hatchback, boasts impressive performance figures, including a 330kW motor capable of accelerating from 0 to 100kph in just 3.8 seconds.
The spotlight also fell on the MG Cyberster, the manufacturer’s first-ever all-electric roadster, captivating onlookers with its sleek design and futuristic features. With a 77kWh electric battery and AWD Dual Motor, the Cyberster offers a thrilling driving experience, coupled with advanced technology such as a wrap-around triple screen and zero gravity seats. Following its teaser during the Cyberster World Tour, MG announced its availability for pre-orders in the Philippines.
“With the biggest and most diverse roster of cars suited for every kind of Filipino motorist, MG is ready to be the Philippines’ top choice for mobility. Our showing at this year’s MIAS reinforces exactly what we bring to the table,” according to Felix Jiang, President of MG Philippines.
Expanding its commitment to electric mobility, MG introduced the MIFA 9, a large electric minivan boasting a 90kWh battery and luxurious seven-seater configuration, catering to families seeking both space and sustainability.
In addition to its EV offerings, MG showcased a range of innovative vehicles at MIAS, including the versatile MG3, the sleek MG ONE compact crossover SUV, and the performance-driven MG7 sports sedan. SUV enthusiasts were treated to the RX9, a fully-equipped ride powered by a 2.0L engine, while the G50 MPV impressed the MIAS crowd with its spacious eight-seater configuration and advanced features.
Amidst the impressive lineup, MG unveiled the IM LS7, a premium electric crossover SUV set to redefine luxury in the EV segment. Boasting a maximum power output of 425kW and a peak torque of 725Nm, the LS7 accelerates from 0 to 100 kph in just 4.5 seconds, offering a range of up to 530 kilometers on a single charge.
Setting new standards in safety and comfort, the LS7 features an adjustable 42-inch triple screen, Zero Gravity Seats with massage and ventilation functions, and a 24-speaker sound system for a truly immersive driving experience. In addition, the LS7 prioritizes safety with its Evolvable Intelligent Driving Assistance System, high-proportion submarine-grade steel construction, and innovative Rainy Night Mode.
