The Motorcycle Development Program Participants Association, Inc. (MDPPA), representing renowned motorcycle manufacturers like Honda, Kawasaki, Yamaha, and Suzuki, recently marked its 50th anniversary with a two-day event paying tribute to the organization’s extraordinary journey in shaping the Philippine motorcycle industry while advocating for responsible and safe motorcycling practices.
Themed “MDPPA Rider’s United: Riding Roads Responsibly for 50 Years,” the event kicked off last 06 October 2023 at the Trinoma Activity Center in Quezon City. It united motorcycle enthusiasts, industry professionals, and the general public in celebrating the enduring presence and positive influence of motorcycling enthusiasts over the past half-century. The event aimed to foster a sense of unity among motorcyclists of diverse backgrounds while emphasizing the importance of adhering to motorcycle laws and promoting responsible riding.
The inaugural day of the event started with the official opening of exhibit booths, featuring the latest advancements in motorcycle technology, safety gear, and accessories from various industry-related brands. Motorcycle enthusiasts had the opportunity to explore cutting-edge products and innovations, gaining exclusive insights into the future of the motorcycle industry.
“Our journey of 50 years is a testament to our commitment to safety, innovation, and community. We remain steadfast in our purpose—to be the most relevant motorcycle association, proactively addressing the needs of industry stakeholders and oriented towards global competitiveness and the sustainable development of the motorcycle industry,” according to Norminio C. Mojica, MDPPA President.
MDPPA extended its heartfelt gratitude to its members and sponsors for their unwavering support throughout the years. Their contributions played a crucial role in the association’s journey, serving as a testament to the unity and dedication within the motorcycle community.
The celebratory atmosphere reached its zenith with a captivating concert, showcasing some of the Philippines’ top musical talents. Attendees were treated to an unforgettable night of music and entertainment. The excitement peaked with the motorcycle raffle, where fortunate participants went home with incredible prizes, including a brand-new motorcycle.
The event served as a poignant reminder of MDPPA’s enduring commitment to road safety, innovation, and community building within the motorcycle industry. It provided a moment to reflect on five decades of achievements and look forward to an even brighter future for motorcycling in the Philippines.

Simultaneously, a special Road Safety Summit took place at TESDA Women Center, Taguig, last 07 October 2023. The summit brought together 50 rider groups with over 300 riders, promoting knowledge sharing and a deeper commitment to safety on the roads.
The summit featured MMDA Chairman Atty. Romando Artes was the keynote speaker, with special guests from DOTR, LTO, MMDA, Philippine Red Cross, TESDA, and UPNCTS (UP National Center for Transportation Studies) sharing their activities, plans, and programs aimed at enhancing safety for all road users, particularly riders. UPNCTS served as the partner organization for this special event, with Motorsiklo Xklusibo as the media partner.
Discussions at the summit revolved around the latest safety practices, programs, activities, shared riding experiences, and strategies for making Philippine roads safer for everyone. MDPPA’s Road Safety Committee also announced the upcoming search for the Best Riders group promoting Road Safety and the 2nd Search for the best delivery rider in 2024.
For MDPPA Vice President Alex Cumpas, the Road Safety Summit was a testament to MDPPA’s dedication to promoting responsible motorcycling and enhancing road safety awareness.
