Globe Business commenced its groundbreaking event, “CyberHeist 2023,” a three-day affair aimed at emphasizing the indispensable significance of cybersecurity in the digital era. The event also showcases how cybersecurity solutions can empower organizations to safeguard their invaluable data from potential threats.
The Globe Tower in BGC served as the venue for CyberHeist 2023. Participants can experience two engaging components: The Cybersecurity Escape Rooms and Whiskey Business: Code on the Rocks. The Cybersecurity Escape Rooms offer cybersecurity managers and IT risk practitioners an immersive opportunity to undergo real-life simulations of cyber breaches in a safe and controlled environment. This hands-on experience enables them to better understand the complexity and challenges of handling such attacks effectively.
“Globe Business is here to help customers build a roadmap so they can shift from a reactive to a proactive cybersecurity posture. We want to help them strengthen their defenses by preemptively identifying security threats and vulnerabilities and implementing appropriate policies and processes to mitigate threats before they occur,” according to KD Dizon, Head of Globe Business.
Whiskey Business: Code on the Rocks caters to C-level executives and decision-makers. It facilitates insightful discussions with cybersecurity thought leaders, while participants enjoy fine whiskey. In addition, attendees have the chance to immerse themselves in interactive videos inspired by the popular show “Bandersnatch,” where they make real-time decisions on how to respond to various cybersecurity threats.
A key highlight of the event is Globe Business’ extensive range of cybersecurity solutions. Among the notable technologies showcased are ZScaler, Palo Alto Networks, Samsung, Fortinet, Checkpoint, CyberArk, Tenable, Dell Technologies, NS Focus, WithSecure, and Yondu. These solutions cover all critical aspects of cybersecurity, ensuring that enterprises have access to the best tools and services to defend against cyber threats effectively.
CyberHeist 2023 serves as a testament to Globe’s transformation from a telecommunications company to a technology company (techco). By offering a comprehensive suite of technology solutions to enterprises, Globe is positioned as a trusted partner in fortifying businesses against the escalating cyber threats prevalent in the digital landscape.
The “State of Incident Response” report conducted by Kroll, a financial and risk advisory firm, revealed that the Philippines ranks among the countries in the Asia-Pacific region most severely impacted by cyber incidents like malware, phishing, and password attacks. These incidents often lead to data loss, business interruptions, and intellectual property theft. CyberHeist 2023 serves as a direct response to these mounting threats, showcasing Globe Business’ unwavering commitment to securing enterprises and preserving their resilience against potential breaches and attacks.
“This one is a pilot for Enterprise (customers), but we will extend it to MSME and even consumers. The purpose of the event is more about education. For example, if a consumer experience a simulated attack, they can be aware,” said Marlon Cruz, Globe Senior Director for the Services and Healthcare Sector. Cruz added that Globe’s Information Security and Privacy groups have been in touch with the DICT, particularly in blocking malicious websites.
Globe Business sets a strong precedent for industry peers in advocating cybersecurity awareness and promoting best practices to ensure the safety and integrity of the digital realm in today’s rapidly evolving technological landscape.
The techco continues to innovate and expand its portfolio, utilizing its expertise to ensure that organizations can safely navigate the digital landscape.
