Foodpanda Logistics has announced a collaboration with global insurance provider Chubb aimed at fortifying the existing insurance program for Ka-panda delivery partners, offering them enhanced coverage during their work sessions.
One of the standout improvements in the insurance program is the extension of coverage duration. Ka-panda delivery partners will now be protected throughout the entirety of their work sessions, providing a safety net against unforeseen accidents that may occur while they navigate through the challenges of delivering orders.
“This move aims to provide greater peace of mind and security for our Ka-pandas who tirelessly deliver food to customers everyday. Previously, delivery partners were only covered while handling live orders. Now, aside from covering accidents, medical expenses, burial costs, and daily hospital income, the new insurance coverage protects them during their entire delivery session,” according to foodpanda logistics President Lhecks De Castro.
Recognizing the importance of comprehensive support, foodpanda logistics has also forged partnerships with government agencies such as the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth). This collaboration encourages Ka-pandas to access government-mandated healthcare benefits, reinforcing their well-being as individual contractors.
The initiative to connect Ka-pandas with essential support and assistance is being rolled out through the pandaPatrol: Hub on Wheels. This foodpanda-branded bus travels to different provinces and cities, serving as a mobile engagement platform for delivery partners nationwide. Through pandaPatrol, Ka-pandas can access information about insurance coverage, healthcare benefits, and other support services that aim to enhance their overall experience and security while on the job.
The collaboration between foodpanda logistics, Chubb, and government agencies underscores the commitment to creating a safer and more supportive environment for delivery partners. By extending insurance coverage and facilitating access to healthcare benefits, the partnership seeks to address the unique needs of Ka-panda delivery partners and contribute to the overall improvement of their working conditions.
