The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) has teamed up with Enstack, an all-in-one business management app, to expedite the digital transformation of businesses in Metro Manila. This partnership aims to equip small businesses with the necessary tools and knowledge to thrive in the digital age.

The DTI’s National Capital Region Office (DTI-NCRO) and Enstack signed a Memorandum of Understanding to launch a series of “digitization” learning sessions for small businesses starting in the third week of October.

These sessions will provide entrepreneurs with free online stores on the Enstack platform, enabling them to accept cash on delivery, process cashless payments, and manage shipping — all within a single app.

Business owners will receive hands-on guidance on setting up their online stores, utilizing various payment and delivery options, and streamlining their operations through Enstack’s user-friendly no-code platform. In addition, Enstack will train participants on how to use productivity tools such as inventory management, accounting and expense tracking, and sales analytics.

Addressing the Digital Gap

DTI-NCRO’s officer-in-charge regional director Winston Singun highlighted the importance of this initiative, emphasizing that over 50% of businesses in Metro Manila have yet to embrace digital technologies. “The app is already complete in itself, and they don’t need to go to one provider for one aspect of their business or to another for another aspect. We understand that if you are onboard to the Enstack app, all the aspects of the business are already there. So, we find their technology really appropriate and very accessible for our businesses,” Singun said.

He also underscored the critical role of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in the region, accounting for approximately one-fifth of the country’s total. Therefore, their digital transformation is crucial for economic growth.

Enstack’s Commitment to Empowering Entrepreneurs

Enstack co-founder and CEO Macy Castillo reiterated their mission to support entrepreneurs by providing accessible and effective digital tools.

“Our mission is to empower entrepreneurs by providing smart, simple digital tools. We want to ensure that anyone with an idea can transform it into a thriving business, even the aspiring entrepreneurs who might just be starting or are still small. Through these digital learning sessions, we aim to help small business owners leverage Enstack’s comprehensive tools to manage their operations more efficiently and grow their customer base,” according to Castillo.

She emphasized the need for continued education and awareness about the benefits of e-commerce solutions, particularly in addressing challenges such as reliance on cash payments and the prevalence of cash-on-delivery.

The DTI and Enstack’s partnership represents a significant step towards bridging the digital divide in Metro Manila. By providing comprehensive training and accessible tools, this initiative empowers businesses to embrace digital transformation, expand their reach, and thrive in the modern marketplace.

Business owners interested in participating in these digitization learning sessions can inquire at their nearest DTI Negosyo Center or through the DTI-NCRO’s Facebook page.
