DITO Telecommunity returned to the MassKara Festival for its 45th anniversary, contributing to the vibrant celebration with a lineup of exciting events that underscored Bacolod’s “City of Smiles” identity. This year’s MassKara Festival, marking its Sapphire Anniversary, was filled with lively parades, competitions, and cultural events, reflecting the city’s enduring spirit and heritage.
Carla Rodriguez, Regional Sales Director for Visayas at DITO Telecommunity, said, “In collaboration with the City Government of Bacolod, DITO brought a lineup of activities to make this year’s MassKara Festival even more festive. We aimed to create smiles and lasting memories while strengthening connections with the local community.” To enhance the celebration, DITO provided a series of activities and even improved network connectivity for attendees.
As part of its TODO Na DITO campaign, the telco upholds its mission to inspire Filipinos to pursue their passions, using events like MassKara to foster a sense of community and unity. “Through our TODO Na DITO campaign, we aim to inspire Filipinos by creating a community where they can express themselves and pursue their passions. In a bid to support festival-goers’ online sharing, DITO deployed a Cell Site on Wheels (COW), providing reliable connectivity across Bacolod, making it easier for visitors to share memorable moments in real-time.
Festival Highlights Spark Cultural Connection
DITO took part in some of the festival’s most-awaited events, such as the Miss Bacolod 2024 Coronation Night on October 20 at the USLS Coliseum, where Princess Ella Olmilla was crowned Miss Bacolod MassKara 2024, and Cindy Valencia was recognized as Miss DITO Telecommunity.
On October 26, the city came alive with the MassKara Electric Float Parade, which included the TODO Na DITO ElekTROIKA Divas. DITO honored Noreen Palermo with the MassKara Diva Choice Award for her standout performance, while Barangay Pahanocoy’s float was awarded TODO Na DITO Best Float. The festival’s joyful energy continued with the MassKara Street Dance & Arena Competition, where Barangay Granada was declared champion for the third year in a row, uniting dancers in a vibrant showcase of Bacolod’s heritage.
DITO Brings Entertainment & Connection to Bacolod
Through its DITO Days extravaganza along Lacson Tourism Strip, Bacolod locals experienced DITO’s network firsthand with giveaways and the latest offerings, such as the new DITO Home WOWFi powered by 5G RedCap technology.
The TODO Na DITO Roadshow was packed with local talent and fierce competitions, with participants going head-to-head in gaming, dancing, and singing contests. Among the top winners were 6D-HTV Tires Supply for gaming, Buklod for dancing, and Abdurrahman Sultan for singing.
The festivities culminated with the TODO Na DITO Concert. Festival-goers gathered on October 25 to enjoy performances from DJ Katsy Lee and a line-up of P-Pop and OPM artists, including Alamat and rapper Hev Abi, who performed hit songs to an excited audience.
