Converge ICT Solutions has formalized its partnership with Huawei Philippines poised to usher in a new era of innovation and industry intelligence during the Huawei Connect 2023.
With Converge’s robust fiber network expertise and Huawei’s world-class digital solutions coming together, the MOU is not only a testament to their commitment but also an avenue to explore and expand upon their successful partnership in home broadband services.
Converge, founded in 2007, has firmly established itself as a technology solutions provider, with a primary focus on fiber broadband technology. Over the years, it has set its sights on constructing ultra-broadband and secure fiber networks, along with providing fixed network and fixed wireless broadband services.
“Converge is a pioneer in network service provisioning in the Philippines, while Huawei is known as a leader in the ICT field. We share the same vision on the advantages of network technologies and the direction in which they should evolve. This is the basis for our cooperation. We will work with Huawei to leverage the advanced optical network technologies and solutions to enable the digital transformation of the Philippine industry, achieve rapid business growth in the enterprise market, and seek new growth areas for the company,” according to Dennis Anthony H. Uy, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Converge.
Since 2014, Converge and Huawei have joined forces in various domains, including home broadband, enterprise leased lines, bandwidth leasing, and data center hosting. In 2017, Converge initiated an all-optical strategy that catalyzed the rapid growth of its home broadband services. As of the end of 2022, Converge boasted an impressive 1.9 million Fiber To The Home (FTTH) users.
The strategic alignment between Converge and Huawei is timely, given the surge in demand for technologies like Artificial Intelligence (AI), cloud computing, big data, and the Internet of Things (IoT). In particular, applications in sectors such as enterprise offices, education, and healthcare have witnessed substantial growth, necessitating higher bandwidth, lower latency, and enhanced reliability.
“To date, more than 6,000 customers around the world have chosen Huawei’s FTTO solution to build smart campuses. The cooperation between Huawei and Converge in the airport field lays out a blueprint for further successful cooperation in the enterprise network market. In the future, Huawei will continue to invest to help Converge quickly enter various industries, stimulate new growth points, and help the Philippines’ digital economy take off,” said Richard Jin, President of Huawei’s Optical Business Product Line.
Converge unveiled plans in November 2022 to collaborate with technology partners in delivering cutting-edge Wi-Fi services across multiple airports in the Philippines. Leveraging Huawei’s advanced Fiber To The Office (FTTO) solution, Converge is poised to establish a resilient and seamless wireless Wi-Fi network tailored to the diverse connectivity needs of airport travelers and visitors.
The Huawei FTTO solution brings a range of impressive features to the table, including high bandwidth, low latency, and simplified operational and maintenance procedures. This comprehensive approach addresses the traditional challenges associated with managing wireless networks for airport customers, ensuring a reliable and efficient Wi-Fi experience.
