Converge ICT Solutions Inc. has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Super Micro Computer Inc., a US-based leader in total IT solutions for AI, Cloud, Storage, and 5G/Edge. This partnership aims to establish the Philippines’ first AI-powered and eco-friendly data centers. This collaboration marks a significant step forward for the Philippines’ digital infrastructure.

“We are thrilled to partner with Supermicro in creating the country’s first cutting-edge, AI-ready data centers. Supermicro’s servers not only boast exceptional AI computing capabilities and handle intensive deep learning tasks but are also energy-saving thanks to their liquid cooling technology. This will allow us to support and deploy a wide range of AI applications,” according to Converge CEO and Co-Founder Dennis Anthony Uy.

Supermicro will provide Converge’s upcoming data centers with Total IT Rack-scale liquid-cooled solutions powered by advanced NVIDIA Graphic Processing Units (GPUs). These solutions are designed for maximum performance while minimizing energy consumption.

Converge previously announced plans to construct three data centers in Pampanga, Laguna, and Caloocan this year. The collaboration with Supermicro ensures all three facilities will be built with a future-proof design, incorporating Supermicro’s expertise and AI-optimized servers. These servers are ideal for supporting cutting-edge generative AI applications.

Converge and Supermicro have identified potential applications for these new data centers, including a National Large Language Model (LLM), Smart Manufacturing for Industry 4.0, advanced Deep Learning/Machine Learning, and Video Generation.

The Philippine ISP plans to leverage Supermicro’s liquid cooling solutions in its servers. This technology significantly reduces power consumption, leading to lower overall data center costs and a smaller environmental footprint.

“These high-performing servers can handle immense AI and Machine Learning workloads. Supermicro’s efficient liquid cooling solution controls the heat byproduct, further reducing power consumption. This aligns with our commitment to maintaining energy-efficient data centers,” Uy explained.

Supermicro’s liquid-cooling technology boasts the potential to lower the overall power consumption of a data center by up to 40%. This reduction translates to significant cost savings and a positive environmental impact.

Supermicro: A Global Leader in Innovation

Supermicro is a recognized leader in the technology industry, delivering cutting-edge solutions for Enterprise, Cloud, AI, Metaverse, and 5G Telco/Edge IT Infrastructure. As a Rack-Scale Total IT Solutions provider, they design and manufacture eco-friendly and energy-saving servers, storage systems, switches, software, and provide global support services.

This partnership between Converge ICT and Supermicro promises to revolutionize the Philippines’ data center landscape by introducing AI-powered and sustainable facilities. These data centers will play a crucial role in supporting the country’s digital growth and fostering innovation across various industries.
