The leading Philippine fiber broadband provider Converge ICT Solutions Inc. strengthens its commitment to sustainability by submitting its Communication on Progress (CoP) for 2023 to the United Nations Global Compact. This report highlights the company’s strides in upholding human rights, labor standards, environmental practices, and anti-corruption measures, aligning with the Ten Principles outlined by the initiative.

“Transparency and accountability are crucial for UN Global Compact signatories. We are proud to share our progress in fulfilling the Ten Principles in 2023, demonstrating our responsibility towards our people and the planet,” according to Converge Chief Sustainability Officer Benjamin B. Azada.

The UN Global Compact is a worldwide call to action for businesses to integrate these Ten Principles into their core strategies and operations. These principles encompass critical aspects like eliminating forced labor, promoting environmentally friendly technologies, and upholding human rights, labor standards, environmental protection, and anti-corruption practices.

Converge’s Commitment to Sustainability

Converge signed up as the official livestream partner of Pride PH, the organization behind the biggest Pride Festival in Southeast Asia, held recently at the Quezon City Memorial Circle. This falls in line with the company’s policy towards Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.

The company’s 2023 CoP report details its achievements across various sustainability areas:

  • Human Rights: Converge prioritizes customer privacy and data security, a cornerstone of its Human Rights Policy.
  • Labor: The company champions employee well-being through various benefits, engagement programs, and talent development initiatives.
  • Anti-Corruption: Converge implements robust measures to manage corruption risks, including business integrity policies, transparency initiatives, and technology utilization. Their revised Anti-Bribery/Anti-Corruption Policy aligns with the OECD Anti-Bribery Convention, the U.S. Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, and Philippine anti-corruption laws.
  • Environment: Converge actively seeks ways to enhance energy efficiency and maximize renewable energy use. This includes conducting electrical audits, pursuing ISO 50001 Energy Management Systems certification, and procuring renewable energy from a mix of geothermal, solar, wind, and hydroelectric sources for its facilities.

Over 17,000 companies worldwide are part of the UN Global Compact, demonstrating their dedication to responsible business practices. Converge’s 2023 CoP report, along with its 2023 Sustainability Report, provides a comprehensive overview of the company’s commitment to a sustainable future.
