Converge ICT Solutions Inc. has claimed the title of the country’s Fastest Internet Service Provider, according to the prestigious Ookla® Speedtest Awards™ for the second half of 2023. This achievement marks a significant shift in the landscape, dethroning competitors who had held the coveted title for the past five years.

Ookla®, renowned globally for its mobile and broadband network intelligence, testing applications, and related technologies, based its accolades on Speedtest Intelligence® data for the six-month period. Converge not only secured the Fastest Internet Service Provider in the Philippines award but also swept multiple categories, earning distinctions such as Best Internet Gaming Experience, Best Internet Video Experience, and Top-Rated Internet in the Philippines.

“Our path to this achievement was guided by the singular mission of answering the broadband needs of Filipinos. That is why, each year, we made leaps in technology innovation and product development, all to deliver excellent connectivity solutions to our subscribers. We are glad to be recognized by Ookla for this collective hard work that ultimately led us to a clean sweep of their top awards including the Fastest Internet Service Provider,” according to Dennis Anthony H. Uy, Converge CEO and Co-Founder.

Converge solidified its dominance by concluding Q3-Q4 2023 with an outstanding top internet speed of 457.56 Mbps, surpassing the national top speeds of 365.19 Mbps. The company achieved an impressive Speed Score™ of 123.18, outpacing its closest competitor. Converge’s excellence in video and gaming experiences was highlighted with a Video Score™ of 86.58 and a total Game Score™ of 88.27, leaving competitors trailing in both categories.

This triumph follows Converge’s previous victories in Ookla® Speedtest Awards™, including Best ISP Video Experience in the Philippines during the second half of 2022, Top-Rated Fixed Network in the Philippines in the first half of 2022, and Most Consistent Fixed Internet Provider at eleven regions in 2021.

At the forefront of the Philippines’ digital revolution, Converge operates the largest Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) network in the country, covering over 682,000 kilometers. With nearly 7.9 million fiber ports deployed and coverage extending to 77.85% of the population, the company exceeded two million residential subscribers by the end of 2023, underscoring the growing demand for its reliable and high-speed internet services.

Addressing the diverse needs of Philippine consumers and enterprises, Converge offers a range of tailor-fit products and services, from the value-for-money and high-speed FiberX to the gaming-focused GameChanger broadband plan, the business-grade fiber plan HomeBase, and the premium enterprise connectivity solution, Direct Internet Access.

“In the course of mindful outstanding service to our more than 2 million customers and ensuring that we keep improving so that we deliver the best services catering to their needs, being the fastest, best video, best gaming, and top-rated show our commitment that we never rest to give our customers the best internet experience,” said Jesus C. Romero, Converge Chief Operations Officer.

In line with its commitment to digital transformation, Converge introduced the first-in-the-country prepaid (Surf2Sawa) and postpaid (BIDA) fiber broadband plans, catering to Filipino families on a budget. These initiatives aim to provide fast and affordable broadband to segments that were previously underserved.

Investing in the Bifrost Cable System and SEA-H2X Submarine Cable System, Converge is set to enhance the Philippines’ internet capacity, bandwidth, and network diversity. These groundbreaking initiatives, connecting Southeast Asia to North America and trans-Asia cables connecting the Philippines to Hong Kong and Singapore, demonstrate Converge’s dedication to advancing the country’s digital landscape and global connectivity.
