Concentrix Philippines, the country’s largest private employer and a global leader in technology and services, has officially launched its newest Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, “Gadgets for Good.” The program, aimed at promoting digital inclusivity, was unveiled in a multi-sector event on 21 October 2024 at the Concentrix EXXA Tower in Quezon City. Through this initiative, the company aims to donate essential gadgets such as computers to students across various schools, local government units, and non-profit organizations nationwide.

“Gadgets for Good” seeks to bridge the digital divide by providing young learners with the technology they need to thrive in a fast-evolving digital world. Concentrix Philippines, known for its commitment to community development and innovation, believes that access to technology is key to shaping the future of the next generation. By donating devices to students, the program empowers them to engage in their studies more effectively and prepares them for the demands of a tech-driven society.

Ahead of the launch, on 18 October 2024, Concentrix leaders, including Atty. Michael Montero, Head of Legal; Larah Sta. Maria, VP for Delivery Shared Services; and Tonichi Parekh, VP for Client Success, signed a memorandum of understanding with Department of Education (DepEd) Secretary Sonny Angara. This agreement also supports Concentrix’s “Turo Guro” initiative, which provides English language training and lessons in innovation and business ethics for educators.

During the 21 October 2024 launch event, Tonichi Parekh was joined by key leaders from various sectors, including Jopat Lelay of the IT-BPO Association of the Philippines, Graciela Mendoza from DepEd, and Emmy Lou Delfin of the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) MIMAROPA. Beneficiaries of the program include the Educational Research and Development Assistance (ERDA) Foundation and the Quezon City local government.

“As a tech-led company, we have been engaged in this program for the past year and proud to formally launch ‘Gadgets for Good’ as part of our commitment to uplift the communities we serve. Technology should be a tool for empowerment, not a barrier. Through this program, we hope to provide students with the necessary resources to thrive regardless of their background, and create pathways for success through the power of technology,” according to Tonichi Parekh, Concentrix Philippines VP for Client Success.

Atty. Montero emphasized that “Gadgets for Good” aligns with broader efforts such as the IBPAP PC Donation Program and is a collective initiative involving government agencies, civil organizations, and the private sector to promote digital inclusivity for Filipino students.

Both “Gadgets for Good” and “Turo Guro” are part of Concentrix’s broader “Concentrix Cares” initiative, which encompasses its CSR programs in the Philippines. The company was recently honored as the Grand Winner of the Company of the Year award at the 2024 Asia CEO Awards for its contributions to the nation’s economy and communities.
