I traveled for around 28 hours (from MNL to SFO and back) and stayed in San Francisco, USA for 75 hours to attend the Community Builders Team (CBT) Work Week from 11-13 Dec 2013 at the Mozilla San Francisco (#MozillaSF) office attended by more or less 40 paid staff and volunteers.
I made a lot of “firsts” during this trip …
It was my very first time to attend a Work Week in person (yeah! believe it or not) and not as a remotee.
It was also my very first time to be part of the Community Builders Team.
It was the very first time for me to travel to an official Mozilla solo (I am normally part of the PHL team).
It was the very first time for me to meet in person fellow Mozilla Reps Council Members Ioana and Majda.
It was the very first time for me to visit the Mozilla San Francisco office and Community Space.
… and the list goes on in a separate blog post.
For three (03) days, the CBT intensively formulated and discussed the goals for 2014 under the following pillars:
- Systems & Data
- Contributor Pathways
- Education
- Recognition
- Events
Initially, I thought of joining the Education Track, however I realized that it’s rather hard to educate without paving the way for new contributors to get involved to Mozilla. Thus, I opted to be part of the Contributor Pathways track.
The Work Week culminated with a Brown Bag during lunch and a Cantina after wrap up (too bad, I had to leave early to catch my 9pm flight back to MNL).
I learned so much during this Work Week. I am so eager to share them to the rest of the Mozilla Philippines Community leadership during our own Work Week in a few weeks time.
Great blog post Bob! Was great to see you again!
Thanks Ben! Glad to see you again at SFO! Until next time. Merry Christmas!
