In the ever-evolving landscape of technology, the concept of “cloud enablement” has become synonymous with efficiency, scalability, and flexibility. In this dynamic arena, a groundbreaking paradigm shift is underway as a revolutionary approach emerges to redefine the very essence of cloud enablement. This innovative methodology not only challenges traditional norms but propels organizations into a new era of digital transformation. I recently had the chance to have a conversation with the Founder and President/CEO of CloudSchool and we talked about his vision and trajectory for this cutting-edge technology company.

Since its establishment in 2019, CloudSchool has emerged as a leading force in the cloud enablement sector, offering a comprehensive array of professional services, training initiatives, and advanced hardware solutions tailored for businesses in the Philippines.

“CloudSchool’s unique blend of enablement over training reflects the forward-thinking mindset required for success. As we embrace the transformative power of cloud technology, it’s not just about adopting a service — it’s about empowering people and processes. CloudSchool’s vision aligns with our commitment at Apper Digital, Inc. to redefine possibilities and pave the way for a future where cloud becomes synonymous with seamless innovation and inclusive growth,” according to Diwa “Wawi” Del Mundo, President & CEO of Apper Digital, Inc. and one of the brains behind CloudSchool.

Del Mundo shared insights into the company’s origin and its evolution, emphasizing the critical role of cloud technology in transforming businesses. With a background in financial services and a certification in cloud technologies dating back to 2014, Wawi highlighted the advantages of early adoption. This foresight enabled them to create innovations swiftly, laying the foundation for what would later become CloudSchool.

Initially focusing on B2B deliveries during the pandemic, CloudSchool quickly adapted to market needs. Recognizing the changing landscape post-pandemic, the company relaunched its business of enablement under the CloudSchool brand, aiming to provide a more comprehensive approach to cloud education and implementation.

The company’s unique emphasis on enablement over training sets it apart in the market. Del Mundo stressed the importance of aligning with the diverse backgrounds and experiences of the Philippine workforce, advocating for a more tailored and inclusive approach to education.

The organization’s cloud enablement partner model focuses on not just the technology but also the people and processes behind it. This approach, termed a hybrid model, aims to accelerate technology adoption by empowering individuals and organizations.

CloudSchool’s success stories include collaborations with established companies like fintech giant GCash and government initiatives such as tax filing system enhancements. The company has also made strides in the education sector, partnering with schools and universities for the adoption of cloud and big data technologies.

Addressing the major challenge of security concerns in cloud adoption, CloudSchool emphasizes the misconception that on-premises solutions are inherently more secure. During our conversation, Wawi illustrated the risks associated with physical control, citing examples of potential data loss or theft. CloudSchool positions cloud services as a cost-effective and secure alternative, debunking the myth that the cloud is more costly than on-premises solutions.

CloudSchool envisions becoming a formal institution, partnering with existing learning institutions, or establishing itself as a recognized learning entity. The organization’s goal is to provide formal education programs that offer recognized units, contributing to faster skills adoption and industry growth.

In the long term, CloudSchool aims to make cloud technology a norm, especially in the business process outsourcing (BPO) sector, envisioning it as the next-generation BPO industry. The company aspires to contribute to the acceleration of technology adoption in the Philippines, playing a pivotal role in shaping the future of cloud education and implementation.
