The night sky above the SM Mall of Asia (MOA) was ablaze with dazzling colors and synchronized music as China’s Polaris Fireworks claimed the championship title at the 12th Philippine International Pyromusical Competition (PIPC). The five-week-long spectacle, which ran from 15 February 2025 to 15 March 2025, captivated audiences with breathtaking fireworks displays from some of the world’s top pyrotechnic teams.

A Global Fireworks Showcase at Manila Bay

Held at the SM MOA Seaside Boulevard, the competition drew thousands of spectators each Saturday, eager to witness international teams battle for supremacy in the fusion of fireworks and music. Co-presented by SM Development Corporation (SMDC) and Suzuki, the event further cemented the PIPC’s reputation as the premier pyrotechnic competition in the Philippines.

The competition featured eight countries — Austria, France, China, the USA, Germany, South Korea, the United Kingdom, and Canada — each bringing their unique brand of artistry and innovation to the Manila Bay skyline. The Philippines participated in a non-competing exhibition led by Platinum Fireworks, setting the stage for the international showdown.

China’s Polaris Fireworks Captivates the Audience & Judges

Among the world-class participants, China’s Polaris Fireworks emerged victorious, mesmerizing both judges and spectators with an awe-inspiring display of synchronized bursts, vibrant colors, and intricate formations set to a perfectly timed musical score. Their performance showcased technical precision and artistic mastery, earning them the prestigious top prize.

The competition’s grand finale last Saturday, 15 March 2025 saw the Philippines and Canada deliver an electrifying closing exhibition, leading up to the much-anticipated announcement of winners. As Polaris Fireworks was crowned champion, the crowd erupted into cheers, marking a spectacular conclusion to this year’s event.

A Spectacular Success, Looking Ahead to 2026

With another successful year in the books, the PIPC once again proved its ability to unite and inspire through the power of pyrotechnic artistry. As the night sky returned to darkness and the echoes of fireworks faded, fans left with unforgettable memories — already anticipating what the next edition of the competition will bring.
