Cebuana Lhuillier has revived its iconic “Happiest Pinoy” campaign, after a five-year break, to celebrate the resilience and optimism of Filipinos. The campaign, which aims to honor individuals who spread positivity despite adversity, has officially begun its search for this year’s most inspiring stories. This relaunch comes at a crucial time when hope and joy are needed more than ever.

Jean Henri Lhuillier, President and CEO of Cebuana Lhuillier, expressed his enthusiasm for bringing back the beloved initiative. He highlighted the strength of the Filipino spirit, which has endured despite the challenges of recent years. “The last few years have been challenging for all of us, but through it all, the unique Filipino spirit — the same spirit we celebrate in this campaign — remained unbreakable,” said Lhuillier. He added that the “Happiest Pinoy” campaign focuses on those who inspire others with their personal stories of hope and resilience.

This year’s competition is open to Filipino citizens aged 13 and above, including Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs). It features various categories, allowing individuals from all walks of life to participate. These categories include Masayahing Gen Z (Youth), Happy at 60 (Senior Citizens), No Way Kapansanan (PWD), Inspiradong Champion (Workers), Bagong Bayani (OFWs), Bibo sa Negosyo (Entrepreneurs), Proud as Pride (LGBTQIA+), and Creative Pinoy (Creative Arts). Special Awards such as Katutubo (Indigenous Peoples) and Happiest Ka-Cebuana have also been introduced.

In 2019, Zaldy Bueno, a public school teacher from Quezon, was named the “Happiest Pinoy” for his dedication to changing children’s lives through education.

The grand winner of the competition will receive a PHP500,000 cash prize, while category winners will take home PHP35,000 each. Special Award winners will receive PHP25,000.
