Canon Marketing (Philippines), Inc. has officially launched its latest high-end, full-frame mirrorless cameras — the EOS R5 Mark II and the EOS R1 — at a grand event held at Raffles Makati. This new addition to Canon’s Philippine lineup represents a significant leap forward in imaging technology, promising enhanced performance and innovative features for both amateur and professional photographers.

The EOS R5 Mark II, an upgrade from the highly regarded original EOS R5, boasts impressive advancements designed to elevate image quality and shooting efficiency. The camera features a 45-megapixel sensor, 8K 60P RAW recording capabilities, and the next-generation Dual Pixel Intelligent AF system. This advanced autofocus system utilizes the Accelerated Capture image processing system, delivering superior performance in autofocus and subject detection that surpasses the EOS R3. Additionally, the 10-bit Canon Log 2 enhances color reproduction, seamlessly integrating with the Cinema EOS workflow for high-quality video production.

Canon Marketing (Philippines), Inc. President and CEO, Anuj Aggarwal, highlighted the company’s commitment to innovation and environmental sustainability. “It’s always exciting to introduce new cameras to the market according to the needs of our consumers. The EOS R5 Mark II and EOS R1 usher in the next generation for Canon as we continue our mission of providing Filipino imaging enthusiasts with the best tools and encourage them to imagine — and capture — bigger things,” Aggarwal said. He also emphasized Canon’s ongoing efforts to minimize environmental impact while advancing technological innovation.

The launch event featured discussions with renowned Filipino photographers Edwin Martinez, Jay Tablante, and Jijo De Guzman, as well as filmmakers Kara Moreno and Ian Celis. They explored the EOS R1 and R5 Mark II’s potential for various applications, including natural landscapes, commercial portraits, sports, cinematography, and weddings.

“The EOS R1 and EOS R5 Mark II are meant to be the perfect choice for professionals who want to capture dynamic and vibrant images and video. These cameras improve on the EOS R3 and R5, making for faster, smarter, and better tools for various fields, including sports, news reporting, and high-end video production,” added Jian Liu, Canon Marketing (Philippines), Inc. Director of Consumer Information and Imaging.

The EOS R5 Mark II is now available for pre-order. Pricing starts at PHP249,998 for the body, which includes a 512GB CF Express Type B card, and PHP329,998 when bundled with the RF24-105mm f/4L IS USM lens and a 512GB CF Express Type B card.
