In a bid to advance discussions on fostering international investments and business in the Philippines, Asian Consulting Group (ACG), the country’s leading tax hub for major corporations and SMEs, is set to host the 2024 International Tax and Investment Conference (ITIC). The event, themed “Breaking Barriers in the Digital Economy,” will take place on 27 February 2024 at the Sheraton Manila Hotel.

CEOs from both local and foreign chambers, alongside government leaders, are expected to converge at this prestigious conference, which aims to promote investments and business activities in the Philippines. The collaborative effort involves international organizations, the national government, and local and foreign business chambers.

Distinguished speakers and industry leaders will take the stage, including BIR Commissioner Romeo “Jun” Lumagui Jr., key representatives from the World Bank Philippines, Anti-Red Tape Authority, Securities and Exchange Commission, Philippine Economic Zone Authority, Department of Trade and Industry, Board of Investments, Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), and International Tax and Investment Center.

“In today’s interconnected world, understanding international tax laws and investment opportunities is more crucial than ever. By bringing together thought leaders and practitioners around the world, we hope to foster meaningful dialogue and collaboration that will drive positive change in the economic industry,” according to ACG Chief Tax Advisor and Lead Convenor Mon Abrea.

Abrea will be joined by Conference Chair Enrique Caeg and former DTI Secretary Ramon Lopez as Vice Chair. Together, they aim to gather global investors, finance leaders, and policymakers to discuss critical issues such as ease of doing business, tax policy and administration reforms through digital transformation, taxation in the digital economy, and the adoption and implementation of OECD Pillar Two in the Philippines.

Also known as the Philippine Tax Whiz, Abrea will unveil his latest book, “Why Invest in the Philippines?” — a comprehensive guide offering insights into investing or starting a business in the country — at the event. The conference will also mark the initiation of ACG’s annual campaign, the International Roadshow. This initiative involves roundtable discussions with foreign investors and multinational companies about the economic landscape, investment opportunities, tax updates, and incentives in the Philippines.

Building on the success of the 2023 International Tax Conference, which drew hundreds of participants from the country’s top companies and business organizations, this year’s event promises another impactful convergence of speakers and thought leaders in the realm of taxation, finance, and global investment. ACG remains committed to facilitating meaningful dialogues and collaborations among local stakeholders to foster sustainable growth and development.

Registration for the 2024 International Tax and Investment Conference is still open. Interested participants can secure their slots and receive complimentary items from ACG by registering via the official website 2024 ITIC.
