Ajinomoto Philippines Corporation (APC Group) reaffirmed its commitment to sustainability during a recent media conference, where it celebrated significant milestones in its environmental and social initiatives.
APC Group President Koichi Ozaki introduced the Ajinomoto Shared Value (ASV) framework, emphasizing the company’s dual commitment: reducing its environmental footprint by 50% and enhancing the healthy life expectancy of over 1 billion people by 2030, “Ajinomoto Philippines Corporation recognizes the responsibility of how we impact the environment. Our ASV signifies our role is beyond providing Filipinos with key products that enhance taste in our food – it highlights our commitment to environmental stewardship.”
Renewable Energy & Green Logistics
A key highlight of the event was the company’s renewable energy transition. APC’s factories in Bulacan and Cebu now operate on 100% renewable energy, thanks to a partnership with ACEN Renewable Energy Solutions. This move has significantly reduced the company’s Scope 2 carbon emissions, preventing approximately 5,000 metric tons of CO₂ emissions annually.
Furthering its green efforts, APC Group is enhancing eco-friendly logistics through collaborations with FAST Logistics and MOBER Philippines. The company has introduced a 100% electric tractor-trailer for warehouse transfers and a fully electric four-wheeler delivery van to minimize carbon emissions in product distribution.
Tackling Food Waste & Sustainable Packaging

Beyond energy and logistics, APC Group is addressing food loss and industrial waste through multiple initiatives. The company donates edible food waste to the food advocacy group Scholars of Sustenance, repurposes residual food waste into animal feed, and transitions to sustainable packaging. Additionally, its SariCycle® program aims to upcycle single-use plastics, reducing its environmental impact.

“Sustainability is an integral part of our corporate philosophy. It represents our pledge to drive meaningful change through sustainable, strategic partnerships, and responsible business practices to create a future where economic growth and environmental stewardship coexist,” according to Ernie Carlos, APC Group’s Chief Sustainability Officer.
Ajinomoto Philippines remains steadfast in its “Greenprint” for the future, continuously innovating to create a positive and lasting environmental impact.
