Airspeed, a trailblazer in the logistics industry, proudly celebrated its 40th anniversary in 2024, showcasing its resilience, innovation, and dedication to excellence. Under the dynamic leadership of Chairperson and President Rosemarie P. Rafael, the company has weathered the challenges of the year, achieving significant milestones while laying the groundwork for a promising future.
“2024 is an exceptional year for Airspeed – One mind, one heart, one vision,” Rafael declared, emphasizing the company’s core principles, the 6Cs: Character, Commitment, Connectedness, Communication, Culture, and Courage. These values have guided Airspeed through its journey, transforming it from a modest logistics provider into a global leader in supply chain solutions.
Founded in 1985, Airspeed began as an international air freight forwarder. Over the years, it has expanded its services to include sea and land freight forwarding, customs clearance, warehousing, specialized logistics, and e-commerce fulfillment. This adaptability has enabled the company to address the evolving needs of its clients and the market effectively.
Expanding Infrastructure & SME Support
In 2024, Airspeed launched new hubs in Parañaque, Pampanga, and Palawan, bolstering its fulfillment services and freight forwarding capabilities. The company also introduced the Pinaspeed SME Program, which includes initiatives like Kahanga-hanga PH, aimed at simplifying logistics for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and expanding their market reach. The PuDo network, featuring pickup and drop-off partners, enhances convenience for clients.
Airspeed plans to continue empowering SMEs by providing tailored solutions, such as e-commerce fulfillment services, supply chain management, and training programs. These initiatives reflect the company’s commitment to fostering growth and supporting the business community.
Commitment to Sustainability & Community Engagement
Sustainability remains a priority for Airspeed, with investments in hybrid and electric vehicles and eco-friendly practices such as packaging material recycling. These efforts earned the company an EPR membership certificate under PARMS, Inc. in 2024, underscoring its commitment to reducing plastic waste.
The company also actively engages in community-building initiatives, collaborating with organizations like the Women’s Business Council Philippines and local government units. Projects such as the Marawi Langkit Festival empower women and support cultural programs, furthering Airspeed’s impact on local communities.
Airspeed’s excellence has been widely recognized, including accolades at the Asia CEO Awards 2024 and the EY Entrepreneur of the Year Philippines. Rosemarie Rafael was lauded as a Circle of Excellence awardee, cementing her reputation as a visionary leader.
As it looks to the future, Airspeed is committed to expanding its reach, improving operational efficiency, and delivering seamless logistics solutions. Rafael summed up the company’s vision, saying, “Hope is what we have, and hope is what will take us to where we want to be. It will help us achieve our goals and navigate the journey. When we embark on this journey together, tayo-tayo, sama-sama, we will embrace everything that comes our way, no matter what happens, as long as we are together. We can Make it Happen!”
