The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has ushered in 2025 with the launch of a new logo and corporate identity, marking a significant milestone in its 69-year history. This transformation, the first in over two decades, reflects the AFC’s commitment to elevating its standards and reinforcing its presence in the global football community.
This is only the second rebranding in the AFC’s history, following the introduction of its iconic “shield” logo shortly after its formation in 1954, which was updated in 2001. The updated identity aligns with the AFC’s vision to connect Asia’s diverse football landscape and engage with future generations of fans, players, and stakeholders.
AFC President Shaikh Salman bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa, who previewed the new logo alongside the AFC Executive Committee last month, emphasized the importance of the rebranding. “Across all levels of football, whether it is through the revamped club and national teams’ competitions, or the reforms of the AFC Statutes and the enhanced support to our Member Associations and Regional Associations, there is no denying that the AFC is at a pivotal point in our growth.”
The logo encapsulates the brand idea, “Connecting Asia through the Power of Football.” Its design features a dynamic thread or ribbon tracing the movements of players on the field, seamlessly forming the letters “AFC.” This visually striking representation reflects the unity and vibrancy of Asian football, brought together under the Confederation’s leadership.
The updated color palette introduces a rich blue with hints of purple, complemented by premium gold, fluorescent blue, and pure white. This modern aesthetic resonates with the AFC’s aspiration to maintain its status as a global football leader.
Adaptable for various applications, the refreshed logo balances simplicity and sophistication, ensuring it remains impactful across diverse platforms. As the AFC embarks on this new chapter, it aims to drive the growth of Asian football to unprecedented levels, reinforcing its role as a unifying force for the world’s most populous continent.
