Acer maintained its position as the top-selling consumer notebook brand in the Philippines for the 16th year in a row, with a 35.2% market share in 2022, according to a third-party research firm. Additionally, Acer dominated the gaming notebook category with a 40.4% market share, solidifying its position as the leading brand in the Philippines’ PC notebook market.
The PC maker brand saw a peak market share of 48.2% in October 2022 as the shift to post-pandemic hybrid work increased the demand for notebooks. In the previous year, Acer held an overall market share of 33%, with 30% in the consumer notebook category and 34% in the gaming notebook category. These figures demonstrate Acer’s continued strength in the Philippine notebook market.
The brand’s success in the education sector, fueled by the shift toward online learning, contributed to Acer’s growth across all market segments. In addition, the company’s commitment to sustainability, including the launch of the Green PC, Acer Vero, helped to drive sales. Acer also engaged consumers through green initiatives such as the #MakeYourGreenMark 21-Day Challenge and the Green Mark Concert, which raised funds for environmental foundations and promoted waste compensation efforts. The support of Acer ambassadors, including Sarah Geronimo, SB19, Kathryn Bernardo, and Daniel Padilla, helped to amplify these messages and increase the brand’s visibility.
