As President Rodrigo Roa Duterte has approved placing Metro Manila under a General Community Quarantine (GCQ, together with Laguna, Bulacan, Cavite, and Rizal) effective 19 August 2020, Grab will be resuming its GrabCar services starting Wednesday (August 19th), operating from 5:00 AM – 10:00 PM. GrabBayanihan Car service for medical frontliners will continue to operate 24/7 across Metro Manila.
Based on the recent policy issued by the Department of Transportation (DOTr), driver-partners and passengers are strictly required to wear face shields and face masks throughout the trip. Driver-partners can likewise cancel bookings should the passenger fail to wear the required facemask and face shield. Following the government’s policy on cashless payments in public transportation, GrabCar passengers are still required to pay cashless through GrabPay, Debit Card, or Credit Card, to book a ride. For commuters who are still adapting to cashless payments, they may visit https://www.grab.com/ph/pay/instapay/ for a quick and easy step-by-step guide on cashing-into their GrabPay wallets.
The company reaffirmed its commitment to continue the implementation of its GrabProtect program to raise the bars on safety and hygiene, ensuring that its community members remain safe. Through a partnership with the National Taskforce Against COVID and the BCDA, Grab continues to provide free COVID tests for its driver and delivery partners.
GrabFood and GrabMart will remain operational from 6:00 AM – 12:00 MN — depending on merchant-partner availability — while GrabExpress will remain operational 24/7 for customers and their families staying at home. GrabPay will continue to provide safe and convenient cashless payments to help our “kababayans” fulfill their transactions while staying at home.
