Despite the ongoing pandemic, the year 2020 proves to be an exciting year for Mozilla, the global non-profit organization behind the popular web browser Firefox. As the decline in the usage of their open-source web browser continues, the most trusted name in tech launches Mozilla VPN.

A VPN (Virtual Private Network) allows a person to create a secure connection to another network via the Internet. You may use a VPN to access region-restricted websites or it can act as a shield for your browsing activities (especially if you’re using a public Wi-Fi).

Mozilla VPN is powered by a network of servers run by Mullvad using the WireGuard protocol. It promises fast network speed for surfing, streaming, gaming, and even for work-related stuff. One major advantage of the VPN product is that since it came from Mozilla and powered by Mullvad, users are assured that it was designed with privacy on top of their minds. According to Mullvad, they do not keep logs of any kind from their VPN users. Mozilla VPN users will have access to more than 280 VPN servers in more than 30 countries.

Mozilla VPN is currently available in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, New Zealand, Singapore, and Malaysia with a flat rate of US$4.99 monthly subscription for up to five (05) devices with no bandwidth restrictions and comes with device-level encryption.

At present, the Mozilla VPN clients are compatible with Android and Windows 10 (64-bit), while the iOS VPN client remains in beta. Mozilla promises that their VPN product will be available in more regions very soon, as well as to Mac and Linux users.
