SM Supermalls has officially launched the SM Active Hub, the country’s largest sports playground, with a grand event at the SM Mall of Asia (MOA) last Sunday, 09 March 2025. The launch coincided with the Filipina CEO Circle’s 2025 Women’s Run PH at the SM MOA Concert Grounds and the SM2SM Run in Cebu, drawing a combined total of 30,000 participants.

The SM Active Hub aims to revolutionize sports and fitness accessibility across the country, offering a wide range of facilities and activities. With 44 pickleball courts across 21 SM malls and 14 running hubs nationwide, it is the largest network of its kind in the Philippines, promoting an active and healthy lifestyle for all.
Thousands Participate in the Grand Opening

The launch event at the SM MOA Music Hall featured exciting activities, including pickleball exhibition matches showcasing the sport’s rising popularity in the country. Running clubs and fitness communities also gathered to celebrate the hub’s vision of making sports more inclusive and engaging.
SM Supermalls President Steven Tan emphasized the company’s commitment to wellness, “At SM Supermalls, we’re committed to creating spaces where Filipinos thrive, and today, we launch SM Active Hub — the Philippines’ largest sports playground. Starting with pickleball and running, the hub offers tournaments, fun runs, sports training, and wellness workshops for all ages and skill levels.”
Bringing Sports to Filipinos Nationwide
With its nationwide coverage from Tuguegarao to Davao, the SM Active Hub makes sports more accessible than ever. Pickleball courts have been installed in key locations, including SM North EDSA and SM Southmall, while running hubs are available in iconic sites like SM MOA By the Bay and SM Seaside City Cebu.

The initiative is backed by major brands such as Toby’s Sports, Asics, Under Armour, Power Mac Center, and Taters, reinforcing its impact in the fitness and wellness industry.
As SM Supermalls continues to expand its sports facilities, Filipinos are encouraged to join the movement. Registration for the SM Active Hub is now open via the SM Malls Online app, offering access to upcoming events, exclusive perks, and discounts.
With its massive scale and innovative approach, the SM Active Hub is set to redefine sports engagement in the Philippines — encouraging more Filipinos to stay active and embrace a healthier lifestyle.
