Manulife Philippines and Manulife China Bank Life Assurance Corporation (MCBL) have been recognized for their outstanding corporate governance, receiving two prestigious Golden Arrow Awards. These accolades were presented during the Global Governance Summit, hosted by the Institute of Corporate Directors (ICD) last 19 September 2024.
The Golden Arrow Awards are given to corporations that demonstrate exceptional adherence to the Philippine Code of Corporate Governance and international best practices, as highlighted by the ASEAN Corporate Governance Scorecard (ACGS) and Corporate Governance Scorecard (CGS). The ACGS and CGS evaluate companies based on their transparency, accountability, stakeholder treatment, and board effectiveness, all derived from publicly available information.
Rahul Hora, President and CEO of Manulife Philippines, expressed his gratitude for the recognition, stating, “Awards like these are a testament to the work we are doing to ensure good corporate governance and stakeholder engagement for Manulife Philippines and MCBL. We are honored to once again receive the Golden Arrow Awards from the Institute of Corporate Directors, and remain steadfast in our commitment to doing honest work for our stakeholders and communities.”

The ICD aims to elevate corporate governance standards in the Philippines through the Golden Arrow Awards, encouraging local companies to adopt globally accepted practices. These efforts are intended to boost investor confidence and enhance the competitiveness of Philippine corporations.
