Grab Philippines is now accepting applications for the third batch of its GrabScholar program. In partnership with Bagosphere, Grab aims to support aspiring leaders in Business, Sustainability, and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) through comprehensive educational aid and career opportunities.

Launched in 2023, the GrabScholar program offers a three-tiered approach, providing full-time college scholarships, bursary support for K-12 students, and career acceleration for those pursuing opportunities in the Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) sector. The latest cycle of the program focuses on offering full-ride merit-based scholarships for three- to four-year degree programs at any university or college in the Philippines. These scholarships are available for students pursuing degrees in Business, STEM, and Sustainability. In addition, bursary aid for students from Kindergarten through Grade 12 remains a key component of the program.

Grab’s efforts aim to shape the next generation of Filipino professionals, equipping them with the skills and resources to excel in their respective fields. Beyond financial aid, GrabScholar provides access to training, mentorship, internships, and potential employment opportunities within Grab itself.

This initiative is part of Grab’s broader GrabForGood campaign, which seeks to empower communities and promote social progress across Southeast Asia. Ronald Roda, Grab Philippines Country Head, emphasizes the significance of education, stating, “I am fortunate to have had the privilege of accessing education through scholarships. As the son of educators and a scholar from elementary to graduate school, I deeply understand the transformative power of educational opportunities. Through the  GrabScholar Program, we will empower more of our young and hardworking Filipino students with access to quality education. We hope that this program will widen their  path towards achieving their dreams.”

For this batch, Grab will award six full-ride college scholarships to freshmen and School Expenses Aid worth PHP2,500 to 300 K-12 students. In addition, 150 aspiring BPO professionals will receive co-funded scholarships for a fellowship program.

Among the previous GrabScholars is Sophia Sy, a BS Medical Technology student at PHINMA-St. Jude College Manila. Sophia credits the program for bridging the gap between her academic aspirations and financial challenges. “There are many Filipino students like me who are determined to achieve our aspirations. However, despite their passion and hard work, many lack access to essential opportunities to pursue academic goals. GrabScholar has bridged this gap for me, and I express my gratitude through my hard work and commitment to excellence as I finish my Bachelor’s Degree – a step closer to my dream of becoming a medical doctor,” Sy shared.

Applications for the third cohort of GrabScholar are now open online, providing a new generation of Filipinos the chance to access life-changing educational opportunities.
