In a move to bolster micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the Philippines and enhance delivery services, Airspeed International Corporation and Philippine Airlines (PAL) have recently entered into a strategic partnership.
The formal partnership agreement was signed in a ceremony attended by Mrs. Rosemarie P. Rafael, Chairwoman, and President of Airspeed Group of Companies, and Mr. Jason T. Siy, Vice President of Cargo Business at Philippine Airlines Inc.
The primary objective of this collaboration is to provide seamless and reliable transportation solutions for businesses operating across the Philippine islands. By combining the expertise and resources of Airspeed with the national flag carrier PAL, the partnership aims to address the unique logistical challenges faced by MSMEs in the region.
Airspeed specializes in offering tailored logistics and delivery solutions designed to cater specifically to business needs. Their comprehensive range of services includes warehousing, inventory management, and last-mile delivery, enabling MSMEs to streamline their supply chain and optimize operations efficiently. Through this partnership, MSMEs will gain access to Airspeed’s expertise and infrastructure, empowering them to enhance their delivery capabilities and meet the demands of their customers.
Philippine Airlines, with its extensive network and decades of experience in the aviation industry, contributes its air transport capabilities to the partnership. This includes the airline’s versatile fleet of aircraft, spanning from inter-island turboprop aircraft to sophisticated long-range jetliners, operating on PAL’s well-established routes that cover major cities and remote areas throughout the Philippines. Leveraging PAL’s air transport services, MSMEs will be able to reach a broader customer base and ensure timely product deliveries.
By synergizing the extensive network and cargo capabilities of PAL with Airspeed’s logistics expertise, MSMEs can benefit from streamlined operations, expand their market reach, and access tailored solutions, thus enhancing their overall logistical efficiency and supporting growth and development.
Airspeed has recently introduced Kahanga-Hanga PH and Speedgifts, eCommerce platforms established through the Amazing Philippines Digital Economy Corporation (APDEC). These platforms serve as Airspeed’s advocacy programs aimed at assisting MSMEs in strengthening the Philippine economy. As Airspeed continues to expand its reach and explore new opportunities, it is positioned to lead the logistics sector, setting new standards for operational excellence and customer service.
At present, Philippine Airlines operates flights to 32 domestic destinations from its hubs in Manila, Cebu, Davao, and Clark, covering a vast network stretching from Basco, Batanes, in the north to Tawi-Tawi in the south. The airline has also recently inaugurated new routes, such as linking Cebu to Baguio and Borongan, as well as regular nonstop services between Manila and Perth, Australia.
With this collaboration between Airspeed International Corporation and Philippine Airlines, MSMEs in the Philippines can look forward to improved logistical support and transportation solutions, fostering business growth and contributing to the nation’s economic development.
